Cool My Dream Truck - One Piece at a Time

***Warning, Wall o' Text inbound***

This post is more for me, but if it helps anyone that'll be ok too. Bought my 2015 XLT Sport SCrew on 09/30 and I love the truck, but it's missing personal touches to make it truly mine. Also, the truck I had originally picked out was sold before I decided to pull the trigger, so when I landed on this one there were a few options missing that I didn't think I needed that I now want. My wife doesn't understand this new found obsession, so this build thread will be low and slow! I'll try to keep up with pricing I've found, dealers I like, and adding pictures when I can.

Factory equip: 5.0L V8, 2WD, Tuxedo Black, 5.5ft bed, 3.31 Gears, 18" Painted Aluminum Wheels, 301A equip package, Sport Package, Tow Package, MyFord Touch, Power Inverter, Pin Striping

Equip installed: Husky X-Act Liners Front and Full Back (Diesel Power USA on Amazon - $194 shipped)

Equip purchased: AVS Aeroskin Bug Guard (Internet-Sales on Amazon - $56 shipped), Husky Rear Wheel Well Liners (Senerex Cars US on Amazon - $112 shipped), 5.0L Coyote V8 badges (hk5motors.com - $12 shipped for 2; swap with Flex Fuel badge on tailgate), Sylvania 168 LED lights for rear license plate (Walmart - $9.88 x 2)

Equip planned (high priority): 35/20 Tint with brow (Local shop - $185), Spray in bedliner (Xtreme Liner from local shop - $345), Bak Revolver X2 (truckalterations.com - $680 shipped), Tailgate Dampener (either local dealership or tascaparts.com), LED Box Lights (either local dealership or tascaparts.com), K&N CAI (Amazon lists for $330 shipped, but checking local parts store for quote), Livernois tuner (Livernois - $599 shipped), Flowmaster 50 Series Custom CB Exhaust (local FM dealer - no quote yet), 2" level (either rear drop shackles or front lift, leaning towards drop), Custom Ford Badges (going to attempt plastidip, but if I don't like them I'm either sending to mbullock for paint or purchasing custom from billetbadges.com).

Lower priority: LED Swap interior/exterior, Interior light upgrade, AntennaX 14" Stubby, Navi upgrade, front camera install, remote start/perimeter alarm (Rogel Ford - $225 shipped), Full custom audio (probably a mixture of local/Internet dealers, potential self install), MFT Screen protector, Catch Can, Billet Grille (black), 20" wheels (black, probably little to no offset - local dealer if possible), AMP Reasearch Power Step, puddle light retrofit, Oracle Switchbacks, 60" LED rear tailgate light

Living the Dream Priority: Either Cobra jet manifold swap or Whipple Supercarger from stage3motorsports.com (to make the EBs jealous lol).

Sorry for no pics ATM. Will post them up when I have time. Thanks for reading!

Sounds sick, I especially like the supercharger idea.

The $7500 sticker for the supercharger makes my stomach churn.

Says it doesn't fit the 2015s. Have a guy a the local part store pricing it out for me. $330 seems top heavy but I guess it's because I have the newer body style. Has anyone used the dry filter version (the blackhawk)?

Oh sorry I could have sworn when I originally read your post, it said you had a 2014. I missed that

Default Mixed reviews

TRIPLE POST FTW! - not really, sorry mods in advance, not bumping because I want comments...

Instead, here's my edited thoughts on the AVS Aeroskin:

1. Easy to install
2. Good fit
3. Fair price compared to OE and Lund branded bug shields
4. Matte black looks more like flat gray in direct, artificial light .

I'll take pics in the daylight tomorrow just to make sure the poor lighting isn't the problem.

Edit:

Daylight pic of the AVS Aeroskin Matte Black - installed 11/03

In other news, badge installed and looks good, and so do the Sylvania 168 LED bulbs I put in the rear license mounts. Quick, simple, amazingly bright. Also going to cost me more money soon since I know need to change out all OE halogens to match brightness and warmth... oh well, guess I could blow my money on more superfluous things.

5.0L Coyote V8 badge swap from OE Flex Fuel badge on bottom right tailgate

Quad post.

Got the tailgate debadged over the weekend and finally installed the Husky Wheel Well Liners. Plastidipped my rear F150 badge as a trial run before this weekend when I plan on doing the fender badges and the Ford emblems. Will post daylight pics when I get a chance. AntennaX 14" billet shorty antenna should be in tomorrow.
