Mrfoodtesters build thread
Well being new to the forum I have spent months just looking over everyones builds and decided its time to throw my own up here. A couple of years ago I brought an 03 xl reg cab 2wd
Here it is when I brought it home
The next step was a bull bar and lights so I brought some of those I got a westin bull bar from craigslist for $70 and decided on Hella 500 lights so I could run them on the road legally
I had this for a while until one unfortunate day whilst driving down a dirt road a large metal fence attacked me, I would share a photo of the damage but I can't seem to find it. Around the same sort of time about a month before the fence incident I had a flowmaster super 40 muffler installed I like the sound but would like to make it a little louder but that shall come in time.
After the crash I decided it was time to do some repainting as the months of off-roading through florida sand had taken a toll on the wheels and the bumpers where just a horrible color, this resulted in a paint day
A few months went by then I was talking to a buddy of mine about a brush guard, this resulted in about a weeks worth of googling in computer class until we came across a brush guard for sale for $100 so we made the commute over there and I ended up buying it for $55 because the sellers mom liked my accent, heres what $55 got me
I then bedlined it and installed it
Since then I wanted to get my hella lights back but couldn't due to the lack of a mounting bar in the brush guard this led to a saturday afternoon job where I restored and welded on an old rusty square tube
I then mounted my hellas and wired them in
And thats how the truck sits at the minute.
Tomorrow I am going to repaint the grill bumpers and rocker panel with bedliner as the white won't stay clean, pictues will follow. I hope to also put a stencil on while painting the rocker panels so that I can have F150 written along the bottom of the doors but not to sure how that will look yet so it may never make it. I'm also thinking about throwing another set of hellas up front, It will fit but I'm still unsure about it so any opinions would be nice. Thank you for reading and enjoy
