Great build bro. Did you do any type of rust protecting on the frame and stuff while you had the bed off?

Thanks man. I didn't do any coatings, the frame paint was still in good shape when I had the bed off so I didn't worry about it then. I've been thinking about getting some POR-15 on it now though, starting to get some rust in spots.

If I were you I would do it. My truck's underside is real rusted since it never had any real undercoating done to it. If you ever seen this thread..

Hey man, just came across this thread randomly and I just wanted to tell you awesome job! It's awesome to see what can be done to a truck that was as bad off as yours was. Congrats!

Old thread, I know but I thought I would provide an update, or conclusion to this thread. This summer I finally replaced this truck, I owned it for 10 really good and reliable years and it was a fantastic truck. I replaced it with a 2015 Lariat Screw 4x4, basically my old truck reincarnated ten years newer. It was honestly very hard for me to sell the old girl for a number of reasons, it treated me well, never left me stranded and saved my *** in an accident on the highway a few winters back. It carried both of my kids home from the hospital after they were born, took the family on many camping trips pulling our travel trailer around. That truck had a hard life, two accidents, lots of towing and many years of hard work and it never whimpered, the epitome of built Ford tough. It was time to upgrade though, the new truck has big shoes to fill!
