Alright well I finally found some time to get something done. I did the Gotts Mod this afternoon. Pretty simple, kinda modified it a little bit and made it work. Interested to see how it works out.

Here's most of the parts I used after the picture I realized I needed two more hose clamps and a can of Black Spray Paint.

-12" section of 3" PVC
-3 Hose Clamps
-Plumber Putty (or some kind of sealant recommended)
-Not sure what size it was, but your gonna need a socket to pull the intake off.
-Black Spray Paint (optional)

First thing I need was disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Next I removed the intake.

I took off the part that contracts as well as the part that goes in the fender well.

Pulled them apart with the help of some WD-40.

I put two cuts in the stock piece that goes into the fender well and put it on my PVC then clamped that.

The reason I did this was because it was much easier than sanding the PVC to make it fit in the OVAL sized hole.

I then used Black Spray Paint (had some high heat in the garage, so I went ahead and used that).

I cut the other side down through trial and error by test fitting.

When I got the length right I used the putty to seal it all up.

Wasn't my original plan, but it should work.

I added hose clamps just in case

Then painted the whole thing black.

Put in place and BAM, that's it. I reconnected my battery and was done.

I also was having a problem with my cowl coming up, not really a mod, but all I had to do was put a screw in it, the screw catches with a piece on the other side and holds it in place.

What does the Gotts mod do? and how do you like your tuner? I was gonna get one a while back but decided against it.

For the most part its just like a CAI. It's very simple, it opens up the inlet on your intake and allows more air to flow through. Some say it increases throttle response, other say it helps with MPG, I filled up when I was done, so I'll compare my new MPG numbers to my past ones and see where that puts me.

I love my tuner. By far one of the easiest performance upgrades on the market. It's super simple and plug and play. A lot of people don't like the Bully Dog because there is no support for "Custom Tunes" but I have absolutely no regrets.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Wouldnt the mod need a filter though? Im curious because I like the idea and was thinking of doing the same. But I dont wanna mess anything up.

And cool. I was looking at bully dog and superchips.

I put a K&N drop filter in to replace the stock filter, it's it the square housing that the intake pictured above fits in to. I seem to be running at lower RPM's and getting better gas mileage just from what my odometer usually reads at certain gas levels, but I will not know for sure until I fill up and compare to my last tank.

My buddy runs a SuperChips Cortex in his dodge ram and he has no complaints with it all. I don't personally know much about anything other than the Bully Dog, a lot of the guys on the site run an Edge CS,CTS,Gryphon (after custom tunes loaded) there is a lot of info about them on the site. If you run a "search" for "tuner" you will be flooded with info, everyone's got their own opinion.

Ya a buddy of mine runs an edge on his king ranch and he says it doesnt really do anything for him. I've heard a lot of different things for egde and gryphons. And that makes sense. That's cool i think ill do that this week.
