Default My 2002 F150 Screw(Resto/Build Thread)

Hey guys I'm new here. I recently bought a 2002 F150 Supercrew Lariat FX4.

It features the following options:
Heated leather buckets
Sunroof
EATC
Power pedals
Autodim rear view
6 Disc in the center console
Etc.

I'd always wanted an F150 ever since my Dad had his 03 Lariat Screw. He knew I'd been looking for one and found this rollover on Craigs and we drove ~3 hours to go look at it. Everything looked good on it and checked out fine. Had minimal damage for a rollover. The sunroof glass didn't even break if that helps describe how lightly it was rolled. We brought the windshield cutter with and cut it out right there. I wore a motorcycle helmet(legally have to have eye protection, and I also didn't want glass flying at my face, LOL) and drove it back.

So far i've put that factory Alpine in.
Ripped the entire interior out of it except for the dash in preparation for when we have to cut and weld in the new pillars.
Removed the headliner and sunroof assembly.
Started pulling out the back window.
Removed the broken tonneau cover. Was actually a really nice one that rolled up but it got trashed. So it's gone along with the bed rails that were on it.
Went and got the new roof
Removed the remainder of the broken running boards. Not putting new ones back on unless I find a stupid good deal on AMP ones.
Pulled off the trashed tailgate.
Ordered 285/70/17 Warden's from Treadwright. (BFGoodrich TAKO knockoffs)

Left to do
Get a tailgate, driver door, windshield and the body work
M&B the tires
Replace the coil for #1. Thinking I'll probably go with a Motorcraft.

Other vehicles I currently or have owned.

Current DD-1997 Grand Prix. Supercharged V6. Has quite a mod list, although the performance mod list is short. Haven't ran it since I modded it but it should run mid 13's. Homemade retros. Was slammed on homemade coilovers, among lots of other mods. I drove it this height in the snow LOL

Previous Truck. 1996 F350 CCLB 7.3 Powerstroke Auto. Big and obnoxious. I loved it. I'll have another diesel again. Once you have one that's all you want. Next one will be Texas truck though that's clean and as rust free as possible.

I also have another Grand Prix. Supercharged like the other one but it's a 99 and a 4 door, closing in on 300K. And also a 1997 Camaro which is also wrecked.

I payed 2K for it. BUT. The kicker is that it still has a clean title. Excluding the tires i'll have under 3K into this truck by the time it's done. That includes the cost of the truck itself, the parts, materials, and doing the body work with my Dad.

3K into a truck that books for almost 10K on Nada isn't bad I don't think. I'm not in it to sell it though. I'm in it to keep it and drive it.

Nothing wrong with that then. Going to do a custom paint job on it or keep it factory?

Just the factory black. The only parts that are going to need sprayed are the driver door, driver pillars, roof skin, and tailgate.
The entire front end and box didn't get any damage, other than the bed cap got cracked on the driverside.
Much less time consuming, especially considering the rest of the paint is actually in really nice condition.

The truck overall was very well taken care of. The interior is in very nice condition. Carpet is nice. Engine bay is fairly clean. Overall it's one of the nicer trucks i've seen, other than being rolled, LOL.

Nothing much really.

I picked up a mig welder yesterday for the project since all my Dad has is a flux and he's wanted a nicer welder for awhile.

We got the new driver door put on and adjusted pretty close. Gonna have to pull the fender off to get it 100%. I grabbed a bed cap to replace the broken one on mine. Managed to somehow not break a single clip pulling it off

My Dad is going to go grab the rear door tomorrow. We're not completely sure that the one on it is straight so we're going to throw a new one on.

Umm. Still need to get a windshield, tailgate, and mirrors. I'm looking into getting mirrors off of a Navigator? Mine had factory turn signals in them. I'd like some that are heated and have the turn signals

Also had an issue with the auto lights turning on and not shutting off. Ended up disconnecting the module that sits right under the top of the dash. Gonna grab one from the junkyard and see if that fixes it.

Other than that I don't have much to post for you guys. Just pulled the trigger on a 600+whp turbo setup for my Grand Prix so I've been working a lot to come up with funds for the truck.
