I have been working on removing the side moldings, (not by choice, one of the door moldings fell off going down the road, no clue where it went, now the truck looks naked). However, over the past 17 years, they have scratched the clear coat. I have tried using meguiars ultimate compound (because it's all I had, figured it was worth a shot) and nothing. I heard wet sanding may help out, is there anything else I could do?
Here is where it scratched the clear coat, it's pretty noticeable in person.

Just reread this thread and I realize I never explained what the "F250 light duty" exactly is. 97-99 ford made the light duty, which changed to the 7700 package in 2000. This package allowed for a heavier payload. It has an extra leaf in back, 4r100 transmission instead of the 4r70, stock with tranny cooler bigger brakes, thicker torsion bars, a 10.25 rear axle instead of the 8.8, and the goofy 7x150 lug pattern
Note the 7 lugs

Nice truck man, good work! First time I pulled up beside one of those 7 lug trucks,I must have counted the lugs 5 times to make sure I wasn't crazy. How hard was it to find aftermarket rims?

I did the same thing when I saw this truck lol, Before I bought the truck I had no clue they even existed. It wasn't tooooo bad since I was just looking at wheel blanks so the shop could drill them, but if your just looking for 7 lugs online, the options are very limited lol. I still don't understand why they chose to go with 7 lugs instead of 6 or 8.

Had to get a battery and I finally changed out the UCA's, basically going to have a brand new front end by the end of the year.
My odometer went out on a Tuesday, the very next day the transmission went out again. The transmission is still under warrenty (1 year 10,000 miles and I have only gone 5,000) but I have to get the odometer fixed before I take it back to the transmission place. Horrible timing on the odometer going out.
Here she sits, atleast she a decent looking yard ornament.

Is it the digital odometer? I know on my "03 it would intermittently work. Ended up being a couple crappy solder joints, so I just reflowed a few joints and it was fine.

although the intermittent digital odo is almost always the bad solder that was one of the few faults these trucks had in large numbers. my '99's is intermittent.
but, not applicable to his truck.
