Default Cemeflybyu's '11 XLT Build

Soooo...back in November I fell for the Ecoboost hype and ended up buying an '11 EcoBoost XLT Offroad 4x4.

My previous trucks included 1st Gen Lightnings, Powerstroke Diesel Excursions and 250's, a Hemi Dodge and most recently a gas sucking Nissan Armada.

I bought the Ecoboost for mileage, power and good looks. I got the power the day I bought the truck. The mileage...well...its better than the Nissan. Looks...Not bad but I really wanted and FX4 but couldn't swing the cost.

Heres what the truck looked like when I got it. I think the previous owner opened up a JC Whitney catalog and asked them to send anything they sold in chrome...

I started taking off some of the chrome right away as it was just too much for me. One thing that I didn't get photos of in daylight were the chrome pieces that covered the black trim around the door windows.

Once that was done I started looking for FX4 parts to improve the look of my truck. I took part in the FX4 taillight group deal put on by shakezone.

I got my rear lights and my smoked 3rd. I sold the rear fiberglass tonneau and found a locking roll up rear aluminum cover.

I got rid of the nasty chrome rain guards and went with the EGR in channel guards. They are a little pesky with the auto windows for the first couple weeks but once the seat they are sweet!

Next I wanted to get a set of the 20 inch FX wheels but apparently these wheels are made from a precious mineral known as Unobtainum since prices are thru the roof for them. Since my new ride had new BFG ATR shoes I decided I'd "settle" for the 18in FX wheels. Turns out that with the dark gray accents I think they really look great on my ride AND they match the factory "4x4 OFFROAD" decals perfect. While I was at it I checked craigslist and found some new take off FX fender flares and had buddy at the local stealership install them. I found a good deal here on the forums for some sweet like new FX Headlights and installed them last week. Exterior wise heres how it has come together so far...

I'll add more to the build covering other mods I've done and have planned.

You've seen my truck so far...feel free to let me know what you think!

So far performance wise I've added and SCT Flash programmer and an Injen Intake. Both purchased here from other members of the forum. Both really add to the fun factor of the truck:

Inside I went with Weathertechs up front. In addition to being a dealer of most of the other products I've added to my ride so far I also added an Edge Insight CTS with a mounting pod and a rear camera. Works and fits great. Very happy so far:

Right now I'm waiting on some HID's and an SVT Raptor TCCM and switch I bought from another member to arrive. Gonna be doing so offroad driving on the beaches of the Outer Banks soon to try it all out. Not sure if I'll be able to get to the leveling kit before then or not.
