I'm kind of basing my build and a couple of my mods off of nitewolf's amazing build, so the layout is going to kind of look the same. A little backstory: I live in Iowa and my dad was vacationing in florida three years ago. He showed me a sweet truck and said he was looking at buying it. A week later he comes home, telling me he didn't get it. I go outside and the truck is sitting in the driveway. I kept asking him how much he wanted for it over the years, and he told me he would never sell it to me. Well, two months ago he finally changed his mind and now I'm the proud owner of this F150 and I couldn't be happier! I plan on doing quite a bit to this truck, and I've already done a lot as it is. I'm just trying to make it look perfect. So, here goes:

This is the truck when my dad brought it home (minus the fourwheeler):
Then, after I got it I had to put on new tires because the old ones looked like racing slicks, and I decided to buy new rims as well because I don't like chrome:
The original tires were 35's and the new ones are 33's but my dad bought the 33's when he owned the truck and they were a great deal so I decided to keep them until the wear out. These rims are helos that I got off of ebay for cheap and they look really great. After spending a few days comparing them and the rockstars I decided I liked the helos more. After that I put on an iron cross front bumper with red shackles and a 20 inch led light bar:

The iron cross bumper was very well spent cash. It looks totally BA and it's solid as heck. I was able to get it on by myself with the help of a couple cinder blocks, but it's not recommended and I scratched the very bottom through the cardboard and foam padding I had protecting it. Next came the PA system to mess with bicyclists taking up the road
Next came wheel spacers. The new tires I have aren't near as wide as the old open countries and my truck kind of looked crappy from the front and back so I decided to buy some spacers to hold me off until I got bigger and wider tires. These pictures are just to show the improved stance, they made a big difference in my mind. They were ebay ones but I torqued them to specs, then loctited and torqued them again and I've checked them twice since putting them on. I went on a 300 mile trip with a fourwheeler in back and fourwheeler on a trailer on interstate and bumpy highways and so far everything has held up just fine.
After sitting and staring at my truck nice and clean, I decided that I was sick of looking at the paint chips and scratches on my flares, so I went ahead and ordered some Ruff Ryderz fender flares from Stampede. Having a Supercrew makes it very hard to find nice things like fender flares, tow mirrors, and tail lights, so I was very happy with how these great looking and great priced flares turned out:
That's it for now, but more will be coming soon. I currently have tow mirrors on the way. I am also in the process of speaking with my local autobody shop about repairing the minimal amount of rust on my rocker panels so that I can take it to the line-x shop and get the whole truck line-x'd. I'm trying to get this done sooner rather than later so that the rust will stop spreading and my truck will be essentially bulletproof... Plus it's going to look awesome in flat black with red accents and I really can't wait. As long as the rust proofing doesn't cost too much then I will get this done soon.
Tow mirrors came in today, and they look SWEET!!! With how cheap they were compared to others I wasn't expecting much but these mirrors are great. Look awesome and maintain their power adjustability and everything.
I LOVE what your doing with the truck!!! I have a 2001 Lariat almost identical stock build. I am going to do a lot of the same improvements like you are to mine. I just posted a thread but seen yours. I am going to hucliner the doors and that might be an idea for you aswell. I will be doing that tomorrow. I love seeing the fender flares on the same 4 door body style because I was unsure how it would look at stock height. Keep us up to date as I will with my Build. Congrats on the truck!!
Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it! I was running into the same trouble as you trying to find good fender flares until I saw nitewolf's thread. I'll have to check up on how that hucliner goes. If you want tow mirrors I highly recommend you order these:
There are only like two pairs left and they're half the price of any other tow mirrors I could find anywhere. If you want tow mirrors then I would jump on this before it's too late, I spent months looking. Thanks again for your post, I'll check out your post too!
I Put the Herculiner on my truck today it turned out way better than I thought. I was going to order the fender flares today with the mirror but realized I need to replace the stock Lariat steps with the Nerf bars before I can (Stock steps butt up against the front fenders). So have the Nerf bars and mirrors on order. Will install the aftermarket lights Tuesday.
