Default Stadt's 2015 SCAB XLT Build Thread

Hello all!
I'd say this is more of a physical copy of my trucks history but its really just a way to show off my truck! Kidding! It may be a while before there is anything to show off!
The first picture will be the most recent, and decent, pic of my truck. And following that pic will be a list of mods completed and future mods. I will try to keep them all updated for anyone who decides to follow along. My plan is a 2/4 drop, 22" wheels with 305's, while keeping the chrome and white theme but not going overboard. We'll see how it goes!

2015 SCAB XLT 301a, 5.0, 2WD, 3.55, Tow Package, 36 Gal Tank, Chrome Appearance Package, Texas Edition

As it sits today, 7/8/18

List of Mods Done:
De-badged tailgate
15% Tint, 40% Windshield
M-300-H Drop Shackles
Husky Wheel Liners
FORscan with Bluetooth MX Scanntool

Future Mods to be Done:
2/4 Drop
Putco Chrome window bezels
BakFlip (or other) flush tonneau cover
8" Guage Clutster upgrade
Factory Center Console addition (remove jump seat)
Kicker Hideaway (or alternative)
LED bulb conversions (possible aftermarket assemblies)
22" Chrome wheels with 305/45 tires
Katskinz covers
Exhaust (Y-pipe cat delete with dual rear exit)
OEM PTM Fender Flares

And a bunch of other stuff that doesn't come to mind but will add later I am sure. This forum does not help!!
With that, let's start with pictures!

First day I brought it home!

First Mod, debadge and remove dealer advertising

Next was Tint. Oklahoma does not have inspections and tint is not really enforced unless you really **** someone off.
Went with 15% and 40% on the windshield. The truck has factory smoked glass resulting in around 5% on the rear. I have no problem seeing out at night and nothing can be seen from outside.
The tint completely changes the look of the truck and interior cooling. One of the better mods anyone can make to their vehicle IMO

Then, not even two weeks after signing for it, my brother backs into it!

Truck was parked and off the driveway! He relied on his back up camera a little too much
His Grand Cherokee drove away with less damaged than mine. It was a Front Right, Rear Left collision. That damaged amounted to a tenth of what the truck is worth! Our trucks are fragile! None the less to be able to work on new Fords properly, shops have to be Ford Recognized for body work. Not many of those here in OK but luckily only the best are! The body shop took about 6 days to fix it all. One new fender and bumper later, the truck looks NEW!

And I do have to give an honorable mention to the Loaner 2018 Toyota Tundra I was given while my truck was in the shop. I have always admired Tundras and this "test" was quite pleasing, as I was offered a Ram and Silverado for which I both turned down. The Tundra was on par for options my F150 has. Only downside was it had a 4.6 and not the 5.7. Besides that, I was actually happy driving it. But man was I excited when I got my truck back in my hands! That is why I bought an F150! Here is the Tundra, the red grew on me so much, but the no tint was killer!

That about rounds out the start of my thread. Literally just got the truck back today from the body shop. And now let the modding begin!!

My work truck is a 2007 Tundra with the 5.7 and that thing is a lot of fun to drive. It can still take just about any abuse I throw at it

I wish my loaner had the 5.7 to put it through its paces. The 4.6 was terrible IMO. I have a quite a few friends who have Toyotas and they all love them. Even those that off-road them with my jeeps keep up with me.

And now that the truck is back in my hands.. Mods!! Tonneau cover is next. And depending if I sell one of my jeeps, 22" wheels and tires soon. And possibly the full 2/4 drop if there is enough left over.

That must've been devastating when he hit your truck! Looks great otherwise.

Yes it was! I was inside when it happened. Knew as soon as he said my name in a soft voice that something happened with my truck. I was upset but we are both responsible adults who have insurance so everything was okay. I didn't have to beat up my older brother again for another mess up

Nice list of mods. Bummer on the hit. But not too bad damage.

Poser shot before and long after some rain. It desperately needs a ceramic coating and minor paint correction for some rock chips. After I install OEM PTM flares and a tonneau cover, that may be the next "purchase." And this may be the last "stock" photo of the truck. Shackles and wheel liners have shipped and will be here this week. Next weekend starts the long process of making it mine!

Well I got the drop shackles installed as well as the Husky liners. I have to say I am a bit disappointed in the Ford Performance shackles overall drop. But happy with the Husky liners. The shackle install was very easy and straight forward despite the nonsense in the FP instructions. The 1.5" drop shackles netted me 7/8" drop from ground to top of the wheel opening. I did install the 2° shims that are 1/2" towards the rear of the of shim. I would hope Ford would measure with the shims installed but I can see them measuring without them Regardless, the axle needs those shims for a proper driveline angle. Anybody who says otherwise is wrong. Once I get some time and back to my Surface, I'll be posting pics and doing a "write up"
As for the drive, its marginally better! Had a drivline vibe that I didn't dive in to beforehand and that seems to be gone. Much less rear wheel hop going over road bumps and anything resembling potholes. And it just feels much more stable than before. The rear bumper and top of the tailgate are noticeably lower now so it helps loading/unloading, although I'm 6'1" so that was never an issue.
And as for the Husky liners, install was very easy and quick. I am happy with the coverage and makes the truck look more "filled" rather than bare.

Have already ordered my next mod, Diode Dynamics SL1 bulb replacements and switchback thanks to their 4th of July promo. And I'll be messaging vendors very soon for Bakflip MX4 or maybe F1 prices.
If you had ordered or happen to know of anybody who got a great price on theirs from a vendor on here let me know!
