Lets Call it a Build - 2003 Supercrew

2003 F-150 King Ranch
Alright, last installment to get me up to date on the fast forward build.
story behind this episode:
The old truck had been needing new ball joints, shocks and steering stabilizer links shot. most of you know, the uppers require new control arms as ball joints not replaceable in factor arms. I bought the pieces a year ago and could never get around to tear down. Those items then morphed into, "while I am tearing apart front end, might as well replace the 12 yr old, 200,000+miles coil springs". That took another step into, "man if I am doing that, lets do something fun like a lift". she needed a new attitude for my 17 yr old son.
so we ordered a Rough Country 3" spindle lift/leveling kit with shocks and 2" rear blocks. one cannot have a lift without new shoes look. This too sat stored away in the garage until last weekend. About 4 months ago, I found a great deal on a set of King Ranch factory 17" wheels with Wranglers which still had use-able tread life. These are taller than my current and as well as rim size larger than the 16" rims currently on truck.
so after a year of procrastination, my 21 yr old son, my 17 yr old son and I dug into her this past weekend. We spent a full day. We shared a few choice words. In the end, well worth it.
here's some pics of the action, finished product as well as 1 before and couple afters.

sneak peek of next mod
picked up this 2002 bumper and 4x4 valence for $50 off Craigslist. pretty clean for 12 years old. foglights on order as well as a set of OG 4x4
tow hooks from junkyard. still need to locate connectors and decide how to switch (whether replace complete headlight switch or just do aftermarket). should have all parts by mid next week. we will continue the facelift.

Thanks Ford Fan #1 as well as others for the comps. Been a fun project so far. some may question the motive being 2wd. Like the look and ride height. in reality, she lives on the pavement so why not have what one wants.
more to come once all current parts come in

more to come? like what? it looks great for being a 13 year old truck.the only thing i would do to it is a bed cover or something like that. maybe 09-14 badges. possibly tint the taillights. and black harley headlights. but other then that maybe XLT wheels? ( Identical wheels to the King Ranch but without logos on lug caps and no tan spokes )

More parts have come in or gotten picked up. the great news, dug under the truck the other night after reading some posts. sure enough, fog light wiring is there. or at least appears. I have not tested but found 2 connectors on radiator wall? one on each side. see pics, they are light blue tucked up. once pulled loose, they will reach fog lights.
ordered lights online. They are Depo brand. appear nice quality and brackets definitely nice quality. ordered hooks from online junkyard. saved drive time and wrenching time. come with hardware as well. will need to drill holes though. lastly, picked up replacement headlight switch from local autoparts store. it has the fog light option.
doing family xmas this weekend so will not be able to play till next. some pictures of electrical and parts.
Depo Foglights
looking up from ground, note blue connector not being utilized. one on each headlight side
note blue connector between horns. looking up from ground
factory original hooks and hardware

Cold wet and rainy today. Been nasty last few days and no real clearing. Not used to that in SE TX. So time to hit garage now that holiday events winding down.
Facelift completed today
OG tow hooks installed, valence installed, new fog lights and switch installed
Quick easy transformation
Really nice as truck was pre-wired for fog lights. Plugged in new headlight switch. Instant lights. Cool stuff. Will check alignment later date.

Wow, I really like what you guys have done with this truck. You can really tell that it has been taken care of. Can't wait to see what else you guys do with it.
