Lambo's lariat screw build thread
Name: None, if you have any idea's, share!
So, my truck was fairly plain when i got it a couple of years back. My father bought it after the lease on his navigator ended because he needed a car and i took it off his hands a few months later once i got my license and spent a few months driving a Crown vic to build up my driving skills. Been paying for it since..
Here's a pic from the day we got it.
You can see my Crown Vic in the background. Great car lol.

One of the first things i did was plastidip the front and rear bumpers. Looked great but had problems almost immediately keeping the plastidip intact. Originally did the PD because i was worried my father might get mad if he saw me painting my truck, but he laughed at me and said i should have just sanded it down and painted it when i told him i 'rubber coated' the bumpers, so, i almost immediately peeled it all off and wetsanded it and threw some matte black paint on it. Used the 'automotive matte black' paint at first but it for some reason had a green hue to it, so i put a coat of real matte black rustoleum enamel on top of it.
Note: Between the plastidip and me spraypainting the bumpers black instead, i had my original tires swapped onto the aftermarket rims i had bought. ~850$ Shipped with TPMS from tirerack. They are ultra maverick's size 18x9 i believe. I Really like them. Pepboys messed up and put some minor scratches on it. Complained and they wanted me to leave the truck there for a few days for them to have the 2 scratched rims sent out and repaired, but i had no way of getting back home and have class all week, so i can't get by without my truck.. so i told the guy he's a f**king joke and walked away. They wont be getting any of my business anytime soon.
Reason i transfered the tires is i wanted duratrac's but decided to wait until the winter as my wranglers still had good tread.

Next was the grill. Got the FORD Overlay and they were all bent up thanks to shipping/poor packaging, so i cut them apart and glued them on. Did some research on the 3m website and found a glue that will take some major cold AND heat and will hold on. Found a 30m or something like that roll (about 1' diameter roll of double sided tape) for like 12$ on ebay from an estate sale lol so i bought that and used it. Put zip ties as a safety in case the glue fails because if i lose a letter its 100$ for a new set..

Next was winch. Installed Rough Country winch plate W/ a 12,000 Harbor freight winch.
Winch and plate went on easy for the most part, just time consuming.
only problem i had is, since i have an air dam, i have the thread and clip where just a hole should be for the third bolt for the winch plate. Couldn't get the threaded rod out of the clip so i ended up just using that instead of the proper grade 8 bolt they include with the plate and the flag nuts they include. Hopefully itll hold, but realistically its not rated for anywhere near the same weight as the stuff they include. Still should do great for my uses, though.
As for wiring, had a problem getting it to fit with the fancy terminals our trucks use. Managed to rig it to just barely fit. Put plastidip on it just in case somehow the breaker touches my frame, to possibly avoid a short. So far hasnt moved at all and i did test the winch a few feet to ensure it works. When i get some straps and stuff i'm going to actually test it with a real load.
Last thing i did so far was harley heads and tails. One of the tails was defective so they are sending me a replacement set but i love the look.
NOTE: I know the bumper pads are missing, lol. I Broke two of the clips on one side so i ordered replacements and i got them a while back but am kinda liking the look of the bumper without em. Gives it that nice rough look. Gona probably put em back on once i have the smittybilt light bar mounted, but for now they are off to give me more room to get my hands in there and tighten bolts and such when installing. Just waiting to get my angle grinder back so i can shave down the fairlead plate thingy so the smittybilt fits.

Last thing ive got planned for now is adding a light bar with some kinda lights. Thinking either 30" Bar from extreme off road lighting or maybe four 6" lights, led or HID. not 100% sure.
Just got the smittybilt light bar in the mail friday so got to get that set up. Just gotta grind down the fairlead cover plate and get that mounted up and then i can decide what lights i want. Wanted a level but dealer said it would void warranty so im delaying that for now.

I Did indeed. I think i may have mentioned it somewhere up there.
I Contacted my dealer and they said that any suspension damage related to a lift or level WILL NOT be covered by warranty. My dealer kinda sucks so im almost certain that if ANYTHING were to go bad, they would somehow make it the lift/levels fault.. Already worried as is with changing heads/tails, adding winch, etc.
Around here modifying a car or truck like that is pretty much unusual. Everyone here just buy's top end cars or new cars and lets them be, lol.
But yes, im thinking of AT LEAST getting a level if not a lift. Front sags quite low now, looks like. Dont think its ALL the winch, it was low to begin with, but the winch and winch plate weighs 130lbs or so so it definitely doesn't help (90 lb for winch setup and 47 i think? for winch plate kit)
