I thought about tan bumpers too I thought I would try the black on for size first. I'm not a fan of the black bumpers, but I like them better than chrome. I still need to PTM my grille surround, maybe tomorrow. If I did what would I do to the rear bumper?

I think what's throwing it off is the mix and match of colors. If you are going to black-out the chrome bumpers and badging, you need to black-out the lower valance, too. Then the tan should probably be painted white. I think going black over the tan would be too much.

You can also black-out the running boards. I think if you do that and PTM the grill surround, it would bring it all together.

In all honesty, I think the original look of the chrome wheels looked really clean. All I would have done is PTM the grill surround and run it.

Ptm grille surround will clean it up a ton, and I think tan bumpers front and rear would too. It'll get rid of the Chrome while still looking super clean like this truck

Running boards will be going black. I'm gonna keep the tan. I haven't made up my mind on what I really want to do. Just trying the black on for size. The reason I don't want the chrome is you gotta clean it way too much.

It's actually not bad. I use Maguiar's cleaner wax on it when I wax about twice a year. Stays looking new.

Just a thought....how about white for the front bumper and valance? That may look really clean and have a splash of tan with the bumper cover. You may be able to use the plasti-dip as a base so you don't have to scuff the chrome up.

That's a pretty good idea. I'm thinking I"ll do the lower valance and grille surround white and then the bumpers the tan color. A lot of the black just doesn't do it for me. There's a fine line between white and black bad *** **** and an XLT work truck. I'm not in San Diego, but I'm trying to keep it classy. We're in the middle of a blizzard right now so there isn't a whole lot I can do at the moment.

Oh yeah. Been seeing that on the news. It's heading our way, but guess it's going to fizzle out and be some snow changing to rain. But....they've been wrong before.
