Had a friend do this mod.

Just inform everybody you do not need to have it programmed. Just find a cluster that is the same miles as your truck swap cluster and steering wheel switch and enjoy!

That is if you can find a cluster with the same/near the same miles as your truck. My 2013 has 7200 miles, and so far I haven't been able to find a cluster from an XLT or higher that has only 7200 miles.... so this mod for me, sadly, will have to wait.

Z7What is talking about my truck. I swapped in a cluster from a 2013 fx4. My truck had under 2k miles on it and the fx cluster I found on ebay has 11,500 miles.

Yes it takes times to locate one but just keep your eyes and ears opened. And if you find one with a few more miles buy it and sit on it until you get to that mileage.

Great read! Planning to do this mod myself. Already picked up the cluster. Although i have a question on the steering wheel controls. Did you only change out the left side? I see there is an OK button on the right side, Do i have to keep the right side buttons the same or can i change those out as well.

Thanks,
Bobby

You will have to change out the left side controls but the right side is same no matter what cluster you have. The ok on the right hand side is mainly for your radio where the ok on the left is mainly for your cluster. If you put in the new cluster and leave the old buttons on the left you can cycle through the screens on the cluster by using the old buttons but you can't go back or select some things. So change the cluster and the left buttons and your home free if ur gauge has all the things your truck has on it already if not it a trip to the stealership for a program !
