Grumbly's 98 XLT Flareside Build
I just bought a 98 XLT Flare Side short box so I thought I would start a build to document what I do and how I did it. Pics of the truck as it sits now to follow.
Immediate things to do:
Plug and wire change
Reseal back window
Clean carpets and interior
Body work and repaint (same color - black)
Key in ignition alarm dings without key
Change tranny fluid/filter and rear gear grease
Figure out how to get the funky half windshield tint off
New wheels
Repair a/c
Future stuff:
Put together new 5.4 engine (build to be determined after I find an engine)
Upgrade suspension components, new shocks, improve towing ability
Fix bed, has a few holes, needs painted, lined or something
Start customizing body and making it mine
Dual exhaust (maybe headers on new engine)

I did some searching on the bay and found both right side doors rust free for $125 a piece located in North Carolina. They have been paid for and a road trip to get them has been scheduled. Now I need the driver side door, a cab corner, both rockers, and a fender.
