Default Gitt24_84's '13 XLT Worklog

I bought an 2013 F150 XLT SCREW 5.0 I signed the paperwork on Wednesday before I left for North Dakota. I was driving it for almost 3 weeks for free! They didn't have the title yet. I left the truck with them and they cleaned it and I picked it back up last night. I figured I'd finally try to get some pictures up and start a worklog in case anyone here cares (this is an F150 forum right?) ha) . Here's a bunch of photos of the truck, it's super clean which is why I chose it even though it had higher miles (78k) than others I was looking at. Sorry for the photos. My phone camera crapped the bed, and I don't have a point and shoot anymore. These were taken with my tablet.

I bought a Borla S-Type exhaust on fleabay for a real deal (turns out it's from PARay5.0 from here) that's in amazing condition and got my hands on a full leather seat set from a 2014 F150 Limited. The seats were filthy and exposed to the elements for a little while but I was able to score them for a 1/4 of what just the skins sell for on fleabay, if you can find them. So i scrubbed them up and they look really nice. There's a few blemishes but over time they should settle in. I'll get better pictures of those later. Also spy some 17" factory wheels from a 2010 that I got at the yard along with the Limited stuff. These are in decent shape with the center caps and TPMS sensors. I plan on putting winter tires on those and having 2 sets.

I bought a '14 Ford service manual CD and a '13 factory wiring diagram physical copy on ebay to figure out wiring up of the heated rear seats and the climate controlled front seats. As far as I could tell from the drawings the factory wiring should have been there at least for the rear seats. Today I went out (since I finally officially own the truck) and tore the rear seats out looking for the plugs. wah wah wahhhhhh. It's not there...there's two empty plugs there

So back to the drawing board. I did pull the side plastic panels and the floor plates off hoping the harness was tucked under but no luck. Apparently I have no idea how to read these manuals. I may just have to run my own wiring. Or I say screw it altogether and sell the seats and just enjoy the truck as is.....

Ok. I pulled a bunch more parts from the Limited, including the power sliding rear window. now I just need someone to install it. I pulled wiring for all the goodies and honestly I think it's going to be WAY more trouble than it's worth. So I'm probably going to sell it all on craigslist or on here unfortunately.

Also, finally installed the Borla S-type exhaust I got from PARay5.0 on fleabay. Man does it sound good. NO highway drone, and growls when you get on it, perfect exhaust. The passenger side pipe is slightly lower than the drivers side if you're looking. That'll bug me so I'll get under there and play with that alignment some more when I have more time.

Last thing, I decided to send the 2010 F150 17" wheels I got to the powdercoater that is next door to my dad's. I did find one of the rims with a slight bend in the lip so the junkyard gave me another. I might try and have the bent rim repaired, it's so slight it probably has no effect whatsoever, so regardless I sent all 5 to be powdered. I was going to try a two tone and tape off but decided to stick with a gray just like the oem color and it'll match my truck. Afterall they were just supposed to be winter wheels. I did get my winter tires in. Got some Firestone's on fleabay for a decent price, as soon as the wheels are done I'll have the tires mounted and balanced and put them on right away since the tires on the truck have some excessive wear on the inside, as if they've never been rotated and the alignment has never been checked.
