The Recon third brake light definitely seal better than the OEM. My OEM started leaking so I grabbed a clear Recon from American Muscle and it did the trick. The LEDs look nice in them too. Not plug and play though, does require wire cutting and splicing.

Could be, Recon has always been hit or miss.

I only personally know of mine and two others, none of us have experienced issues.
