Fun Daily Driver, with power! Affordable
I am coming from a cummins to the Ecoboost. So far I love this beast and can't wait to see what it can do.
I'm going to be doing a build and write ups here and on Instagram (@DieselTruckSociety) on my 2013 Ecoboost 4x4.
My goal is to build a fun to drive that has power and fuel economy. I will be reviewing each upgrade and the outcome seen in real life conditions.
I want to show if spending the money is worth the investment or if it's just for the fun / cool factor.
A quick overview for the truck:
Exterior:
Factory pint match emblems
Projector head lights
LED pod fogs
Back up LED pods in the bumper
20-22" wheels - haven't nailed a look down yet
Interior
New sound system with factory head unit
Sound proof material on doors
Engine
Tune - Potentially 5 Star Tuning
Exhaust - cat back - MBRP
Intake - S&B
Water Meth
Blow off valves
Suspension
New shocks
Potentially a lift (3") depending on fuel economy
If there are any brands of specific parts you want to see comment below and we will do our best to test them.
We are excited to be sharing here!

So far we have installed DDM Tuning HIDs
Costs: $100 (35Watt headlight Hi/Low, 55Watt Fog light)
Outcome: amazing light output and not terrible blinding other drivers

Tinted the Windows
15% all the way around
Extra 30% on the driver and passenger windows
50% on the entire windshield
5% sun strip
Looks great from the outside and still drive'able at night

Updated the tail lights to the FX4 style. Bought them used for $100 on eBay and selling my old ones on eBay currently for $55 each. So I should break even on this but get a much better look!
I have a set of @CustomLedLights Flush mount LED pods for the rear bumper i will be paint matching and installing next. Should look really good in the bumper and not stand out too much being white instead of black.

Got my led pods in today. They are extremely heavy duty and well made! I am stoked to see these installed. CustomLedLights is the brand
I took them apart, taped them up and started painting... here are some photos of the face plate off, taped, and a before the clear coat.
I sanded them down before painting. Painted about 5 coats of Dupli spray paint Oxford White from auto zone (for Ford color match) and also bought the clear coat. I have done 3 coats of clear.
My plan is to run these off a relay trigger by the reverse wire in the trailer harness. Does any know if I could just power these from that wire instead of a relay ?? They are 18 watts each.

You'll pull about 3 amps extra power across that line with those two LED pods. Assuming you're only running them while in reverse, if you change your other reverse lights to LED, you should be safe in short bursts.
