Bringing an old thread back to life! I’ve had my 12 Ecoboost now for 5 years and decided this summer to give it a bit of a make-over and add a few things so gonna use this thread for my thoughts, and ideas on what I’m going to do.

Haven’t really touched the truck or done anything to it in three years aside from rockin it everyday as my daily driver. Still probably one of my favorite vehicles I’ve owned overall, comfortable and easy to drive, hauls everything from toddlers to mulch and does it with ease and style.

So my idea for the truck is to beef it up a bit and make it stand out a bit more visually but with nothing too over the top. Already have plenty of power as I def spent enough time / money on that already.

Plans are below

1) OEM Raptor Rims wrapped in 35 / 12.50 / 17 inch Nitto Ridge Grappler’s

http://www.nittotire.com/light-truck...ht-truck-tire/

If anybody has personal feedback / experience on these tires, feel free to post up. I dont go offroad ever so dont care about offroad performance but the Ridge seems like a good mix between longevity of a AT tire with looks of a MT. I've been rocking the Nitto Tera Grapplers since day 1 and they have stood up to everything I've needed em to do and at 50K miles an counting on em so if the Ridge grapplers do nearly as well, that be fantastic in my book.

2) Barricade Raptor knock off black smooth flares
http://www.americanmuscle.com/barric...ares-0914.html

3) Barricade bullbar up front
http://www.americanmuscle.com/barric...lack-0915.html

4) 3.5 inch SST lift to be able to clear the 35’s.
http://www.americanmuscle.com/readyl...0913-f150.html

Def debated for a long while on how high a lift, what type, ect ect but finally settled on the 3.5 as I think it will give me the stance I want and also didnt want to do a full suspension lift either as the 3.5 will give me the option of going back to stock if I ever wanted vs cutting usually required on a full lift.

5) Wrap the tailgate with the FM logo, website, phone, debating on flat black wrap or blue flame, depending on how it looks once the local vinyl wrap place mocks up a couple examples for me

I will keep the thread updated as parts arrive and get installed and if I think up anything else to add but all in all, I think it will be a nice fun / update to the truck that has served me so faithfully every day for past 5 years. :-)

So turns out that I have to change plans a bit as those Raptor rims wont work with most lift kits as I decided to go with a full 6 inch suspension lift and not the 3.5 SST lift and just about all 6 inch lifts cant run a 17 inch rim.

Which is sad cause I love the look of those raptor rims. You can get aftermarket knock off in 20's for them but dunno yet, kinda whole point of the Raptor rim look was 17inch with beefy *** 35 inch tire wrapped around it....

Stay tuned!

Oh and I also ordered a Iron Cross front bumper as well.... :-) Figured go big or go home....

Few more parts arrived....slowly but surely it's going to come together.

Barricade black fender raptor style flares

Waiting to install em to see if I want to paint them black or if the textured black finish will be good enough, I think it will be.

Like my bright *** blue tennis shoe? lol Didnt even notice until this pic...And before you ask, the white thing on top of my shoe is a button that turns on the blue LED's in my shoelaces. Because yes, I'm a grown *** man with glowing blue shoelaces....best $7.95 I ever spent on Amazon...

Have an Iron Cross front bumper on back order so will get that in a week or two but picked up a couple heavy duty shackles for the front of the bumper and had them powdercoated candy blue ( cause I LOVE bright blues )

Then while I was at it, decided to clean up my front grill a bit and repainted it ( same colors, just had done it last about 3 years ago and it was a bit faded )

In progress

Finished... can see the difference of three years from the grill and lower bumper....didnt do the bumper since gonna replace it soon anyhow with the Iron Cross but while the pics dont show nearly as much, its a day and night difference between the two

And this Wed, dropping the truck off at a vinyl shop and they are going to wrap my rear tailgate with something very similar to below, to be done in a flat black background with flat blue lettering....be very curious to see the finished result in a few days as this is just a mock up

That's all I got for now, stay tuned!

Prob gonna order the lift kit and tire / rim combo end of the week, pretty much decided on what I want but sitting on it for a day or two to make sure it's exactly what I want before dropping $3k and making a mistake like before on ordering rims that wouldnt work cause I didnt do my homework enough prior....

Thanks! Been kinda even more fun with the truck modding it since I have had it for so long now and fun to see it transform some more as I haven't really touched it mod or appearance wise in 3 or 4 years....

Few more fun parts arrived...

Kinda fun having a whole pile of parts in the garage... Last thing I am waiting on now is the Iron Cross front bumper which is backordered and dunno yet when that will arrive... but the new rims, lift, tires, lighting, fender flares, everything else has arrived so far.

Also had the tailgate done...and turned out really nice. I like the colors and design, think it came out nice. The vinyl wrap place had to do it two times as the first time they did it, they used my original draft on it and not the final version which had slightly different font color and words but they redid it for free this afternoon and came out great I think.

Now just waiting on the Iron Cross bumper....and seeing when it's gonna warm up a bit to install the lift, prob be a week or two before will have time to deal with it but I'll keep the thread updated as the parts start to make their way from the garage floor to the truck. :-)

So the rims arrived....decided to go a very different route rims wise....

Realize they wont be everybody's cup of tea but decided to go with KMC Rockstar XD827 series rims in flat black.. in 18 inch so will clear the lift and knuckles just fine and should look good with the 35's wrapped around them...

But I can't leave anything alone if I have the choice and since I LOVE blue, added some blue accents...I was very dubious at first but saw another truck at a local Cars n Coffee event that had red accents like this and it actually looked damn good. Not to mention the whole kinda point of the truck is to turn heads at local events and whatnot and blue accent rims def will do that.

Iron Cross just contacted me today and the bumper should be shipped next week so I'm targeting first week of April to install everything hopefully, we see!

Ha, just for fun I rolled up one of the new tires in front of the truck to see what it would look like on stock suspension...
