Default F-150 fx4 -05

Started off as a boring stock FX4 that came to Sweden in -08.
I bought it in -13 as a work truck.
This spring I decided to start build it towards an off road truck.

Until today I have fitted:
3" lift
35"x12.5 R18 General Grabber AT2
Shortend the exhaust (sticks out between the bed and body)
Fender flares

Upcoming:
New right manifold (crack in it)
Some sort of off road front bumper, been looking at the N-Fab RSP Front
New air intake
I might get a 6" lift next summer

Replaced the stock fake chrome bolts on my fake *** beadlock rims!
They started to rust 2nd day I had them on.
So I bought some (40) brass bolts to replace them all.
Came out pretty nice, better than the original anyway.
And of course the threads were stripped on the last hole on the last wheel! Murphys law I guess, ha ha!
Nothing some super glue couldnt fix!
(there is no tension on the bolts, just for apperence)

Stock

Brass replacement bolts

Hard to see them, but here's a pic of the full wheel

Sand blasted a right manifold today!
I have had a crack in the right one on my truck for quite some time now!
Really need to change it before the Swedish winter kicks in with all those cold starts!
Sometimes I wish I lived i the U.S.
Buying stuff for theses trucks here are like buying stuff for a BMW or a Mercedes!
I was looking to get headers, but the shipping is usually (if they even ship to Sweden) more then the headers! And this goes for most of the stuff for the tuck!
So this time I went for a used manifold and just sandblasted it to make sure there was no cracks in it.

Is it just me or does anyone else really love seeing these trucks in other counties? I don't know why but I think it's awesome!

It' hassle, but I love the truck so what can you do

Did som rust removal and repainted the roof today, previous owner had scraped the roof a bit.
Anyway, the paint didn't come out as well as I wanted, so I got i bit annoyed, and kicked a spray can away from the car, managed to hit the gate and it flew back and hit the driver sides rear light!
Aaaaaaaand of course it cracked! Ha ha!!!
No stress, just a crazy turn of events!

I will respray it with plastidip until I have the time to redo it again.

So next on the list, new tail light!

Got a bit restless today and since I had an extra OEM grille, I thoght that I would see what could be done with it.
I'm not going to lie, I wanted to re-do it completely, but after looking at it for a while I decided to repaint it and get som mesh behind it.

Started of by taking off the OEM "mesh" with a flathead screwdriver.

Then I masked the painted parts that I was keeping

Then I removed all the clips for the OEM "mesh" connection with the good old Dremel (Sorry I didnt get any shots after sanding them down)

Then I started forming the new mesh around the holes in the grille

Last but not least I plastidipped the whole thing black before fixing the mesh to the grille

Still need to fixate the mesh to it and put my black Ford badge on it.
Hopefully I get my truck back from replacing the manifold on monday and I will be able to get the grille on the truck!
