So i decided to post a small build thread over what i have done with my '11 so far. here it is on the day they delivered it to my house
The first thing i had to do was get rid of the awful rake. I measured the way it sat and found that a 2" Autospring level makes the fenders to tires measure evenly, however, since the front wells are cut deeper, the truck itself would not actually be level until 2.5" was added to the front. so a 2.5" Autospring it was
Next i removed the lower air deflector to make the front appear taller. Then i went to Autozone and bought some wire, a single replacement cig lighter, and a 4 way 12V plug in block. I ran the hotwire straight from the battery, through the firewall and under the dash, where i plugged in my hidden 12V single outlet, plugged the 4 way into that, and have 4 12V plugins that are hidden. This way my gps, flashlight, and radar detector all have hidden wiring as if wired in. Next was to install my Streamlight Stinger charger and a Cobra 29LX CB radio. I found that the CB fits nicely although i did lose my lower cubby hole. never used it anyways. the Flashlight mounts to the floor underneath, and the slide out cupholders still function without hitting either one.
Next was to get rid of those street tires, which look silly with a level kit. At the tire shop, the Cooper ST Maxx was all the talk, so i bought a set of 10 ply rated ones for $1100. They are 275-70-18 and fit nicely with no rubbing. They do hum a bit on the highway but are quiet enough that the radio drowns them out if it is on
After this i decided the stock exhaust needed a bit of a boost. so i cut the tip off right after it comes over the rear axle, and installed a 18" Magnaflow. It has a very nice deep rumble on takeoff, but once you set a highway speed, it goes almost silent.
As exhaust was in the works, i also bought a toolbox for the bed to carry stuff in for the road such as recovery straps, cables, ect. plus found some cool little 5.0 badges on amazon.
After this i ran across a Rockford Fosgate 10" sub that fit nicely under the back seat. I bought a Kicker amp from a pawn shop and ran all the wiring under the carpet. For a 10", it has a lot more bump than i expected if you run the bass up, so i was surprised and happy. haha i'll try to get some pics of that soon
Next i was tired of not having the extra lighting that my old truck had. so i started looking for a place for the license plate to go and make use of the center bumper hole
Inside the hole there was no place to mount the lights, so i fabricated a rather simple somewhat ugly but useful bracket to mount the lights to and tacked it across the frame rails
The lights are 6" KC Daylighter Opollos, well worth the $140
The results dont show up that well on a camera, but the extra light output in person is amazing

I know this is a bit of an old thread, but had to comment on the nice truck! Sweet job with it. That's a very similar style to what I'm going for with mine!
The CB setup really caught my eye. I'm looking at ways to mount a CB radio in my truck (2009 XLT with front bench, so I'm wondering if you have some more pics/details of how it's mounted.
How did you remove the little door? We're you able to use the standard mount that came with the CB? How is the flashlight mounted beneath it?

Wow, I completely forgot about this thread, sorry for the late response. Thanks for the compliments In the 2011 it didnt have a door, im not sure what year they started putting the door on. It is the stock bracket, but what i did, was cut the bracket in half in the middle, bent it straight up on both sides, and slid it into the hole, so that the bracket mount are against the walls of the cubby hole on each side, where i ran a screw into it. As far as the flashlight, it is just long self tap screws that went through the carpet and into the floor. Let me know if you need any help on yours
