quick update on the truck. after weeks of dealing with readylift they finally made the arrangements to pawn me off to autoanything. im supposed to talk to a certain person but they havent been to work in 2 days so now im just getting sick of this crap. i need these things gone asap and neither company is making it a quick process.

anyways... i picked up 2 dump cans to mount in the bed on the opposite side of the gas tank. reason being is that im going with a deaver h69 pack in the rear and ive been hearing that the side with the gas tank sags pretty bad with the softer springs so hopefully this should help remedy this. im going to weld up a box to put them in and lock them down.

next thing is that i have been recently using the bed of my truck a lot because i am doing construction on my house and its officially desert season now that the weather cooled down, so ive had dirt bikes, atv's, and my buggy in the bed. each time i go to use it, my spare tires are in the way so i finally found a solution to my problem. im going to have armada engineering make me a chase rack to keep the spares above the bed and out of the way with an added bonus of a roof rack. should have it in a couple months. in the mean time, here is a few pictures of it on their raptors.

Got a hold of somebody at Autoanything today. We made the arrangements to ship back the tie rods for a full refund. They even went above and beyond and are sending me a free shipping label so I don't have pay for postage. That's how a company should act.

So I can finally say that after almost 3 weeks, I am finally returning the tie rods!

Man have I been having fun trying to fix my 4x4 system on the truck these past couple of days. It started with my shop that I brought my truck into to try and align the readylift tie rods told me that my cv's were spinning all the time and it sounded like my wheel bearings were grinding. I first got a new iwe solenoid and that made the grinding go away which was cool. But then I checked to see if the cv's were still turning with the truck on and they were. Checked my Iwe's and both were bad so got replacement dorman ones and installed them. Well, the cv's still turned. Crap. So now I have all new vacuum hoses, check valves, and vacuum reservoir coming from ford because I figured it all has almost 70k miles on it so I'll just replace it all. Praying that it works. For now I have my vacuum lines plugged and out of the way so no chance of grinding but my cv's are still engaged full time.

Something tells me that this might be the reason my cv's stay engaged haha. I replaced it and it fixed the passenger side. Put the vacuum tester on the driver side line and couldn't get anything to hold so still have to replace the lines. Just thought this was pretty funny.

I read through your whole build, good job man. you totally transformed that truck. Glad to see you get your usefulness out of it as well. Keep it up!

Quick update, replaced all the vacuum lines today and it fixed the problem. Both cv's are now stationary in 2wd. Pretty stoked.

Also it sounded like dirt freeks didn't want to make me some tie rods without the truck with them. It makes sense and I'm not driving to vegas anytime soon so I decided I'm going to take the measurements from the readylift tie rods and build my own.
First step was to get some 1.5" .120 wall DOM tubing. It's overkill but I like overkill haha.

I cut it into workable pieces for now, they aren't cut to size yet. Then I ordered FK heims, 7/8" for the outer pivot and 3/4" for the inner pivot. Also got some camburg Clevis', they adapt the stock rack for the 3/4" heim pivot just like the readylift ones. I got some hex threaded bungs so that you can hold the tube with a wrench to tighten the jam nuts. Also made the inner bung left handed thread and the outer right handed thread so that in order to adjust them you can loosen the jam nuts and the whole tie rod will spin in either direction. Im actually really looking forward to this project, it should be a cool learning experience and open the door for me to start building other stuff. I'll update as parts start coming in and I get my design finalized.
