Weellllll maniac has been lifted for two weeks! I finally got the weather I wanted to go off-roading and was extremely surprised! Maniac did great! Did some crawling... Flexed out on my buddy's tire! I'll take a picture next time we hang, because we didn't leave until 10:30 so it was dark. I'll have good pictures up tomorrow if I wake up before noon!
First impressions on the Detroit trutrac are very impressed. A world of difference from the stock LSD.
Fox shocks handle bumps and potholes great at higher speeds, and provide plenty of vision for big drops.
Toyo MTs sling mud great, but I noticed I had to spin a little to clean out completely.
BDS lift met and exceeded my expectations, handles very solidly and is very well built.
MPT custom tunes - before the gearing, tire size, and torque converter update - noticeable difference in power throttle response and overall performance. After update very light throttle required to maintain speed, climbs hills above highway speeds easily, speedo matches actual speed, better acceleration than I expected. Cruising at 75 rpms only 200rpm higher than stock. Mileage seems to have dropped slightly, but less than I expected with the new tire size.
Overall, I love my truck. Addicted to modifying and have a 87 SAS ranger built for flex, needing engine work. Also have a 94 Nissan pathfinder which was my highschool vehicle and will probably end up getting a SAS and 37s along with an engine swap.
Any ideas for Maniac??

Looks like I've gt a set of lift leaf springs and a new driveshaft coming in! I'm getting all pair of 5" super lift leaf springs and a custom driveshaft made with a CV joint to help it operate smoother.
No more axle wrap!

So after waiting about two and a half months, my springs finally came in! One came in in the two weeks the shipping said it would and the other got lost thanks to UPS... more like "usually pocketing ****"... and they couldn't find it. So had to call Superlift again, which of course I just had to have gotten the last pair in stock, which led to a call to the factory. 8 weeks later, I get the other spring and Friday after work I get to turning a wrench. Turns out my leaf shackles were rusted through! One ear was completely missing and the other was rotted through in the middle. No more axle wrap and no more vibration! Driveshaft is still being funded but now I can travel in 2wd again without any fear!
