Seems like it be less money to just buy the bigger motor available if thats your thing ya know?
Yeah but us 4.6l owners will get an additional 5 mpg. All for under 2G's. Then our only other mod is the top end stroker kit for $2500 achieving around 400 dynoed horses.

[QUOTE=blackbetty;88765]its not a race truck, and it never will be, i have bikes and will have other cars down the road to build, not at the present time...

the pure stock run i did i ran like 17.6 or something at 79 mph which is about average for the 4.6 stock

i chose the 4.6 because it was great price, and its a proven powerplant with tons of knowledge behind it, and the parts are dirt cheap and direct cross overs from the 4.6 mustangs and f150's. i got it used, i would of gotten a 5.4 if i could of gotten a great deal like i got this one for. and honestly with a tune the 4.6 will have no issues hanging with a 5.4, and pound for pound a 4.6 is just as capable as a 5.4, however it is a better place to start with the 3v heads. i have been researching the 3v 4.6 head swap, and its very popular over the 4v heads right now, so ill see if its something id do, but it all depends on if i get a 99+ cobra or a 01+ gt on how far this truck goes. id love to turbo this but cali is a crappy state for custom mods and i just need to see whats legal and all that stuff...and what i can get away with.[/QUO
look up the sts turbo kit designed for our 4.6l single turbo 6G's. Twin turbo 7G's insane.
