used a product called scratch-X that is made by meguars (sp?)

its not to bad for decent scratches, used it with my mothers power ball and a terry cloth to wipe clean, reason i used it was some one vandalized the passenger side and drivers side...

heres the drivers side when i was done after it was keyed on the lower half of the door..

My truck has been in northern Michigan sine 93. Needless to say I have some rust busting to do myself. Did you just chip of the big flakes then steel wool down to the good metal? thats what i was planning on doing. Also what kind of paint did you put on the metal? And i noticed you painted right over the bolts. Is the paint you used thick enough to cause problems if you ever need to take them out, or will they still come out the same. I'm just curious. looks good though.

i just used a steel flap wheel on a drill, got the majority of the rust off, plan on a new cover with gears so i am not overly worried, and its 2 coats so nothing to worry about on the bolts
