Default "The Beast"

hey Everyone, Traded my 97 4wd gmc sonoma for a 2001 f150 XL RCLB 4x4 from a friend.long time mechanic first time ford owner.Trucks not in bad shape for my area (Rust is standard package item here! :P) its got a basic remote starter, all new 4 wheel disk brakes, sitting on 245/75R16's. It does need a new bed and a alternator and i need to weld one part of the frame

fender im just gonna weld as its just the last few inches gone, i have good experience welding frames so im just gonna replace with 1/4" steel, iv sourced a new bed and alt for $150 total from a friend

blah, decided to tackle testing the alt to see if it that or a wire/fuse problem (i was hoping ), but all the lines tested fine, mega fuse and mini fuses related tested fine, trigger wire reading batt voltage, so only thing left is the alt itself. i cleaned every connector tho while i had it apart and ran a new wire from the alt to the solenoid. sometime next week ill have to ****** up a new alt from the junkyard.

on another note, the fuel gauge is permanently at 1/2 (i know theres only about $10 in the tank so i know the gauge is wrong) are these gauges signal to ground or signal to 12v from the sending unit?

some updates, went to go have some fun in the snow and noticed the new tranny line is leaking at the coupling and dumped out a decent amount of ATF, so nows shes will only give me everything but reverse and shes stuck in 4hi lol, i do have to say tho she will pull herself out of 1 feet deep snow with a nice ice layer. all it wanted to do in 2hi was spin. on a good note all my electrical problems i fixed ,
