Default BassAckwards Mod Thread

Starting this thread because I like to see how much I've personalized my Truck, but mostly I would like opinions on some future mods I have planned! Thanks for lookin and all your help guys!

Bought in Oct. '08 Bone Stock off eBay from a Dealership in Houston for $15,999

First Mod: Chrome Door Handles/Mirror Caps/Gas Door/Tail Light Covers
I know some people don't approve of them and I'm not totally sold on them either especially the Gas Door, but the great thing about them is I got them at a good price and I can always take them off!

Jun 2010: Skyjacker 3" Suspension Lift Kit, ATX Artillery 18x9 Chrome Rims, Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 275/70/18.

July 2010: Edge Evolution Programmer, Westin Ultimate Bull Bar.

I like it , a lot. Looks tough. The chrome is fine as far as I'm concerned.

Next I made some custom Stainless Steel Trim that I polished up for the truck to match the chrome better.

First I made some Running Board Mount Covers. I hope you can see what I'm talking about, I just don't know how to save a Photoshop image with arrows to where I can post it on here so that its more obvious. But look just above the Running boards where the mounts are and you will see how shiny they are becasue of the covers.

Then I made some nicer looking Fender Braces. I changed out the 3/8"th rods to Polished SS 1/2" rod and added some flare to it. I made a jig with the original Fender Braces so these new ones are a perfect fit and they don't have any bends in them.

November 2010: Front License Plate thanks to some cop, 6" KC HiLite SlimLites, and an 08 Chrome Grille

I have also painted underneath the Fender wells so when I clean the truck sometime this week I will get some better shots of all the things I've added under there.

Christmas 2010: *Chrome Differential Cover* (No Pic Yet), *Painted Brake Calipers Red* (No Pic Yet), Custome Side Exit Exhaust Tip with Dynomax SI/SO Muffler.

This Tip took a long time to build but I love it and think it was well worth the time. I was real big at the time of making this that I didn't want my truck to be obnoxious loud. I wanted it Quiet when cruising down the Highway but Loud when I romped on it. Thats why I went with the Muffler I did, and I made the Tip where I can Take the Front lid over the opening off, and the Top lid off, along with the 2 dividers inside so that I could not only repolish them, but I could add some kind of Baffle system later if I thought it was too loud. However, I love the sound and am leaving it how it is, I did paint the inside of the tip Black with High Temp paint, but I left the diveders Polished. The Rest of the Tip is Welded together, infact the Front Lid over the Opening was actually a piece of Plate that I bended and welded together and then just ground the welds down so that you couldnt tell.

Thanks! I think the chrome looks fine too, I just know some people think it looks cheap.

Okay next, I was hoping to get some opinions on Future Mods.

I really like the Ram Air Hoods off ramairhood.com and its functional. This is the one for my year model truck: https://www.ramairhood.com/store/Scr...p?idproduct=43

And this is as close of a pic as I could find on their site that looked like my truck.

So this is why I want the opinion. The biggest compliment I get is that I didn't overdo it with my Lift and all the modding and didn't go real crazy. I really like this hood but would it be to much? The most gaudy thing on my truck is the exhaust tip and I've only had one person tell me they don't care for it, to my face at least . Opinions are welcome from everyone and I thank you for sharing them!

Future mods I also want are some OBX Long Tube Headers with the Highflow Cats, I'll probably pick this up on eBay.

I also like this Roll Bar in Paticular on AutoAnything.com in Stainless Steel. Opinions on this are also welcome.

I would get it as the Double Bar that installs behind Wheel Wells so that I can still fit my Quads and Motorcycles back there.

Yep me and my son fabbed up the tip ourselves. Took his whole christmas break lol. He loved it though, and learned a lot. He likes to show everything off to his friends when he drives the truck and I've let him help me with all the mods and it really helped him learn respect for his things and to take care of them since he's put so much blood, sweat, and tears into it. And at least every other weekend I'll hear "I'm going outside to wash the truck!" and I think, "Oh yeah, I did something right when I don't have to clean my own truck! "

Also: how do I get a sticky? Lol and to answer any future questions on the SS Trim, I fabbed it all up myself as well .

Where are my manners! Thank you for the compliments man! I'm glad you like the tip, I just like making things that nobody else has on their truck
