First thing I do when I walk in to look at a vehicle is ask for the invoice price. Then we go from there. If they don't want to give it to me, I walk out. If they give it to me, then I ask what they need to make off the vehicle. That's how I got my current truck. You'll blow through a few dealers doing that until you find the dealer that will play ball. There's a secret to playing the game.

I bought my dads truck for him in August, and it was so painful. I ended up paying over Internet price because he wasn't trading anything in. But, 41500 on a 53k fx4 Eco wasn't bad in the first place. But ford isn't on my radar so not going back to that dealer lol

That's the only way to do it. Actually got a dealer to go under invoice using that same method (truck had been sitting on their lot for months) but unfortunately the truck sold a few days before I could make it back there... Still got a good deal, just not under invoice...
