Default Advice needed on painting truck toolbox

I have a Diamond plated toolbox on my truck, right now it is silver but i am thinking of turning it black. I have thought of two ways to go about this. 1st, Using bed liner, or 2nd, just using spray paint. What do y'all think is the best way to make it look good and last long. Any advice would help.

Spray paint wouldn't and shouldn't even be an option unless you are going to scuff it, paint, then clear it. A rhino line or similar product would be the most durable and not cheap looking if done right. You don't have to put the texture in the liner, but it does strengthen it.
