Default 86 F150 Lariat

So I bought this thing for a steal ($300), it has 54,000 original miles , and I'm going to start working on rebuilding it. I plan to put a 3" lift on it with bigger tires and clean the crap out of the current wheels or fine some nicer ones, some fender covers, bed liner, diamond plate bed rails, tool box, custom cab lights, and a custom paint job. So far I've got the nasty running boards off, and done a full tune up. It's a slow work in progress as it's been too hot outside to work on it lately.

Lookin good... I'll be at the roll in at busters and/or unique & specialty classics this thursday... You should drop by. It will be my first time going to a roll in in a classic! Every other time it was in my moms suv!

I didn't see this until just now. I won't be able to make it in tonight, I'm going to do some more work on the truck, it's sitting in St. Peter right now. I have to replace the ICM I think; it started to die out on me when the engine gets up to temp and I let off the gas or come to a stop.

I am ordering a new rear bumper for it tomorrow, though, so I'm pretty excited about that! Here's a picture, I'll be getting the one with the back up lights and straight diamond plate.

Here is what my f150 lookes like with a 3" lift and 31" tires. Gall i sure do love that red paint. I might repaint my f250 that color or do ford tractor blue or something some day. Of course a good black paint always looks good.

And here it was in 1984 and then 1996
My uncle got it brand new.

Those tires on there are the normal tires. The muddin tires were 38.5" tires! The lift is 6" suspension and 3" body. My uncle died and my other uncle took the 6" lift and stuff off, it sat for 20 years and then I got it.

Yeah man the guy I bought it from was going to junk it?! I was confused as to why the HELL someone would junk a vehicle with less than 100k on a motor; AND it runs and drives.... Oh well, you can't fix stupid.

No more real progress done on the truck yet, got to the fuel filter yesterday and whoever changed it before me over-tightened the cap so I had one hell of a time getting that off. That was enough work for me after my 9 hour shift yesterday. I'm hoping to get in to her a bit this weekend.
