Default 35s on stock 18s?

I have a 2011 xlt with the stock 18" chrome rims. I was told by a shop that the biggest tire I can fit on these is a 33", I have the truck leveled. I'm seeing pictures of my rims with 35s on them. Does anyone know the exact size I can fit for a 35 on these rims?

285/75r18 is the tallest tire my tire place recommended i could put on my stock 18" wheels, which is 34.8" in diameter.

The issue is really the width of the stock wheel, which is 7.5". They say not to exceed a 295 width tire on 7.5" wide wheels.

That being said, there will always be people who will go against what the manufacturer and experts say, so you will see people running 35x12.5 tires on stock 18" wheels.

Running a tire too wide for the wheel will cause it to bubble out, and wear out prematurely.

So there are people who justify replacing tires much quicker for that extra .2" of diameter, which sounds crazy to me, but to each their own.

When my stock tires run bare ill either be replacing them with 295/70r18 (34.3") or 285/75r18 (34.8") tires, since these are the largest tires the manufacturers recommends on the stock wheel.

Well said, to straight up answer the OP's question, yes it can be done, I had a buddy do it on his 2011 with 35x12.5 Arturo tires.

I was going to do it on my 05 until I got a killer deal on some aftermarket wheels. Stock 18" wheels are +44 I believe with a 5.5" backspace, my moto metal wheels are 9" wide with a +18 offset, and 5.75" back spacing. My tires are 325/65-18 which works out to 12.8x34.6 I believe.

You can run up to a 35" tire, nearly 13" wide, on almost any wheel between a +18 and +44 offset, with a backspace of 5.5"-5.75", without rubbing, the only spot I had a small issue was the passenger side lower valence on the bumper, it caught a couple times while in reverse, I tried it on an angle with a knife and it looked like it was always supposed to be like that, never had an issue again.
