I put a set of 4.56 gears in this weekend The truck drives awesome now. What I didn't think about before I did the gears was the exhaust. It does 2200 rpm at 70 now so it's rather loud on the highway compared to what it used to be. So I might be changing that soon. Other than that I absolutely love it. So hard to keep my foot out of it until the gears break in. They wernt nearly as hard to install as I thought they would be. They arnt making any noises either, or any noises I can hear over the tires. I also rebuilt the LS will I was in there. Gonna do the front some time before Christmas hopefully

Sounds nice. Gears sound like they worked out perfectly.

Thank! And Oh they are awesome. Here's a a video running them on my 87 performance/chill after I finally broke them in.
still a pig but definitely more drivable now. I have the front gears and install kit just sitting in my garage, just gotta find the time to put them in. Video of just cruising on the highway and how it actually accurates in OD now: https://youtu.be/1FzX2mEkzoY
On another note this thing is way out breath above 4k rpm. My trans seems strong so I may dip into an engine build here soon

Looks like yours pulls way harder in the higher rpms and above 60. But yeah the low end is awesome with the 4.56s. It would be about the same as 4.10s on 265s. Your intake work and headers definitely looks like it made a difference

They did, I noticed it most pulling a car hauler. The low end didn't get any worse with vehicle in tow and cruise on the e-way was stable. Before I did that work I was running a Flowmaster muffler with just upstream cats, no headers and towing seemed like a chore. It was cake after the headers and a straight through muffler, big difference. I have a before video as well, I'm not sure if that one works anymore -

I guess it does work lol. I timed them both. I picked up 6 seconds 0-80 after the install.

That's a crazy difference. I need to look into doing that. I was just planning on building a forged bottom end, trick flow heads, some cams with a little better mid to top end but not crazy, probably stock or a little higher than stock CR. And then maybe add boost down the road. If I can hit 350 at the crank with no boost and it still be a reasonable build I would probably be happy.
