The 2016 Rally Truck Build
#21
I didn't remove anything other than the muffler, and I don't think my truck has a resonator.

Beer, Boats, and Trucks.
"Stock Resonator" --- Well, I can tell you all I did was follow the instructions from Magnaflow and remove the muffler back. They call it a "Cat back" but it should be called a "Muffler Back" because that's all it is.

Yup, you have a resonator...
I wouldn't recommend removing the resonator. I have a flow master 40 series on my truck with 3" pipe from the resonator back. I originally removed the resonator. It sounded amazing, but also crazy loud drone on the highway.
Also, there has been discussion on removing the resonator messes with the back pressure. Not sure if this is true, but also didn't want to risk it.

I won't remove it. I like the sound I have now, it's good without being obnoxious or annoying.

The resonator makes a great muffler

Parts arrived today! Well at least some of them...
Installed Rigid D2 Driving and Rigid Dually Spot's in the bumper today... Went very easy, I like how Rigid supplies all of the wiring, relay, switch, very nice package. I'm one of those "get it from China" type people, but I figured I would go for it on this - they are nice lights for sure.
Supplied switch installs in SECONDS literally on the dash trim and is super clean and easy to find, it's lit as well which is nice. I used the drivers side grommet which was very accessible.
I put the spots in the middle, so that the driving lights had the most space as they are very wide. The bumper itself lends itself to installing these.
There are mounting tabs in the light holes that are VERY stout, and the lights fit perfectly. THE BEST setup for these kinds of lights!
It's still light out, but I figured i'd try them out.

I installed a 2.25" levelling kit from ReadyLift. The kit is nice 6061-T6 billet which I like better than the steel spacers even if T6 is pretty junk.
The hardware was nice
The Readylift instructions say to remove the axle, other kits don't. You CAN do a 2.25 without removing the axle it's just a little harder. This can be done with one person but find a friend it makes holding things while bolting things much easier
Result! I now have only 0.5" of rake front to rear, the bumper and winch really did drag me down but it all looks much more appropriate now. It looked silly before. Anyone considering a heavy bumper or winch setup needs to level it.
