Default 2016 Platinum FX4 Magnetic Gray

I picked up my truck last night, 10/10/16, from Matthews Currie Ford in Nokomis, Florida. The truck had 1,641 miles on it from the dealer, and they threw in a Line X treatment for the bed. I'm going to do my best here just to document anything I do to the truck as far as maintenance and mods goes, and maybe any notable trips and performance notes.

2016 F150 4x4 Supercrew
145" wheelbase
5.0L V8 FFV

Exterior: Magnetic
Interior: Black Leather

Manufacturer options:
  • Equipment Group 701A
  • 3.55 Electronic Lock Axle
  • Twin Panel Moonroof
  • Pro Trailer Backup Assist
  • Trailer Tow Package
  • FX4 Off-Road Package
  • Skid Plates
  • 36-gal Extended Range Tank
  • Flex Fuel
Here's the truck the day after I drove it home--since it was way too dark for glamour shots the night I brought it back.

I'm coming from a tuned 2009 Subaru Legacy GT Limited with 70k miles. I've had an '88 Ranger and an '07 Tundra 5.7L CrewMax, and a whole range of fun cars over the years. I've been wanting to get back into a truck for nearly a year, and I'm excited to start playing with this rig.

Removed front license plate holder. Lost only a little blood from my left middle finger.

Line-X Premium application scheduled for today. The shop is picking up the truck this morning, driving it 50 miles to their shop in Bradenton, then returning it before the end of the day.

Dropped off for 3M 35% window tint on front windows. It won't match the rears, but it will be legal... and I've been harassed for dark tint before.

I'm considering using a matte black cast vinyl wrap on the rear "Platinum" chrome trim piece (inspired by @Rotordrew here). I've measured it at 64" x 13", which is just an odd size; it's just over 5', and just over 1'. You can get 6' rolls 18" wide, but once you go longer than that, the rolls get much wider.

I've found 3.9 mil black matte for $55 for 8' x 5'... I may just pull the trigger on that.

I connected to the ECU with my Openport 2.0 and made the following changes:
  • Disabling Double Horn Honk
  • Ability to do fogs & high beams at same time
  • Heated & Cooled Seat Icons on home & climate screen

All tested, all functional.

Do you have any big plans for it? Maybe a level or lift, new wheels and tires, exhaust?

What I have in mind in the near term is a mild spacer/block lift and to keep the rest stock. Maybe a muffler with a dumped tip aft of the rear axle. I think I can hold out until I actually need new tires before upgrading wheels and tires.

I'm on the lookout for either a Decked setup, a deal on an A.R.E. topper, or both!
