2015 "Ruby" Platinum Build
#1
HI all, Just sitting down to start this thread of my 2015 Ruby Red Platinum build. I fell in love with the 2015 F150 when I saw the first picture of the Ruby Red in December of 2013. I knew that minute I'd be trading in my 2012 Platinum for one. I then waited for the order banks to open and placed my order on day 1. The wait was painful to say the least and I finally took delivery on March 10th 2015. I started piling up parts and accessories in my garage just waiting for her to get delivered. Here are some pictures the day I took "Ruby" home
The very next morning I put her on my lift and started the BDS 6" suspension lift install. There were only 38 miles on the odometer lol. The install took me 2 days to complete. It was not my first suspension lift install on F150's but my first BDS lift and I must say it is one phenomenal kit. The instructions have a few hiccups as I expected but I'd say I spent 15 hours in total. I hemed and hawed over aftermarket rims but due to my past experiences with aftermarket rims in New England winters I stayed with the factory rims and I couldn't be happier. In the past I had 22" PVD Chrome rims with Toyo MT's, switched to AT's then back to factory rims since they just couldn't hold up to the salt. I just can't get myself to like black rims so they are out. I really like the "factory" look so I'm going for a Super Duty look with F150 comfort & ride. Here is a picture of the lift just after i lowered it from the lift
Today I found a few minutes while the kids were napping to install the OEM Splash Guards. They installed pretty easily even though the directions were terrible (As usual for OEM Ford direction) There is now a brace that connects the inside top edge of the rear flaps to the quarter panel just in front of the bumper. I installed it temporarily but will be having it powder coated soon just because I'm **** lol. Here are the pictures from the install
I have been very busy and haven't even taken off the dealership stickers lol. I hope to put on the Backflip tomorrow and get all the stickers off including the 4x4 ones. Thanks for taking the time to read my story, Ill be updating as I go. The reason I love this forum is because of the things I learned or saw on it and I just hope to add to plethora of information this forum has to offer. Jaime

Nice truck! It's great that it came with decent Hankook tires on it. My '14 FX4 (read OFF ROAD) came with the Pirelli Scorpions, wtf? I will never understand how an "off road" branded truck can ship with passenger/street tires. They are long gone now, at great expense, and the truck looks much better.
Looking forward to seeing more of your build.
