2015 "Ruby" 2.9 Whipple Supercharger Install

The Whipple is obviously bigger, which lowers iats and ultimately makes more power with less boost. The Whipple doesn't require grinding any material in the valley or off the timing cover like roush. I've heard that roush requires you to modify the wiring harness whereas Whipple actually repurposes io ports on the ECM by modifying the os. I believe the calibration from Whipple is better as well. And finally, ford chose Whipple for the 1000 hp 5.0 in the cobra jet race car, which probably isn't happenstance.
One advantage of the roush is in the limited dyno info I have it seems to make more mid range and low rpm boost, which adds torque. Some argue this is a disadvantage because of traction. The Whipple makes more low end than any centrif but seemingly less than roush.

I first looked at the ROUSH kit and as a mechanic seeing the install instructions and what was required........ Grinding bosses off of the timing cover, re-pinning plugs in the harness, pulling the vibration dampener and changing the crank pulley, pulling the AC compressor to change the AC Pulley (and subsequently having to discharge the AC), and looking at the underhood packaging........ I didn't like it.
After finding the Whipple webpage and going over the install instructions for the kit I was sold........ No irreversible modifications necessary, and the fact that the kit is used by Shelby on the Shelby F150 with no changes whatsoever it was a no brainer.

My friends hit on all the points you were asking. I would like to stress the importance of the most important feature, the calibration. You will not find a safer calibration for your truck than the Whipple cal. Not only is it the safest it will be among the top, if not the top, when looking at HP and torque and at the same time be the absolute safest leaving all the factory fail safes intact.
The parts supplied are top notch and equal or better than OEM quality.
I literally finished yesterday removing my Whipple from my mustang because I am trading in for an automatic and I can tell you how easy this was and the car is 100% back to stock. No block grinding, no hacking harnesses, nothing.
Having a Whipple on both my vehicles it was easy to see how involved Whipple is and the mustang market is leagues bigger than the F150 so the kit is tried and trued and proven to be superior to Roush and in my opinion everyone else but for now I just comparing to Roush.
Shelby has reached out to Whipple to make the exclusive SC kit for their F150 (and will recommend them for their cars too). Ford Racing (who uses Roush for their SC kits) reached out to Whipple for the CJ Mustang and I have a feeling you will see more Ford/Whipple work coming in the very near future
My last point will be customer service. I can tell you I've spoken to both companies. Roush for performance parts and exhaust and Whipple for the last 3 Superchargers I purchased. I am utterly disappointed with Roush's attempt at customer service for a freaking cold air setup and blown away with the customer service I have received from Whipple. The guys will stay on the phone with you as long as it takes and never make you feel like all they want to do is yup you off the phone. And I'm 100% dead serious, their customer service is as good as it gets.
Put everything we have mentioned together and there just isn't a choice if you ask me.

The first Whipple I did took just over a day. The second one was 11 hours start to finish, including reflashing. If I did another one tomorrow I think I could do it in 9-10 hours. It's not a very intrusive install. Very little wiring, pulley mods are easy, no dropping the fuel tank, etc.

I want to supercharge my truck down the road, a long ways down the road. I know Roush, Edelbrock, Magnuson, and Whipple will make more power. While I am not looking for too much power, I do want to hear the whine of the supercharger. I miss the sound from my S331. I must ask how loud is it inside the truck.

Thanks for the kind words, it was a pleasure installing the SC and making this thread and I'm glad it has helped some people in making their decision.
Feel free to PM me with any questions.
