Since I'll be working around home the next few months, I had time to do a quick detail. I have always used Griots garage sealant or polywax, but tried some Meguiars carnuba. I think my new process will be the sealant/polywax topped with 1 or 2 coats of carnuba

Spent all day remaking the light harness and extending it so I could route it the way I thought was best. Lots of fir mounted zip ties, cussing and soldering. Once it gets some dirt, the wiring will be as good as factory. Also, picked up a canopy and had to run another harness from the brake booster back for the 3rd brake. I didn't like how the wires could get damaged with the oem holes in the bed so I made a new one where it's protected now.

Put on the roadmaster active suspension and towed the jeep over 2 states and 1300 miles. Other than going a bit slower than usual up the passes, I never knew it was there. Handled and pulled great amd averaged 12 mpg, even with the 70-75 mph speed limit

Nice mods. I miss my old Commando, but not the headache of hunting for parts. Lol

Thanks. The jeeps a love/hate relationship, and it stranded me 15 miles down the road on a trail from camp so it's on the chopping block now. Been wanting a v8 97-98 grand cherokee but have just started looking into 2nd and 3rd gen 4runners

how did the D2s retrofit go for you? it looks fairly straight forward, also how did the aiming go? and I've yet to see where people are placing the ballasts or how the wiring works any ideas there? This is on my list of things to do to mine, the lack of light output from stock is almost dangerous. Sorry about all the questions lol.

Sorry, I don't get on here much. I had a spare set of headlights so I wasnt in a rush. Overall it wasn't bad, the worst is cleaning out all the old sealant from the lens channel. For aiming I just took a rope and pulled it from the back tire to the wall, keeping it straight against the truck. Not the best way but I was getting tired of mind ****ing it. As for the ballast, I just screwed them down to the frame rails below the lights, only problem has been static from where I grounded.
TRS said to move the grounds or try the anti staitic clip (rheostat or something). I put 2 on each side and it all but eliminated it, I still have another set I'm going to put on but it's not bad enought for me.to pull the lights. I do wish I spent some time making some projector shrouds. I bought some FXR projectors a while ago to put in the other headlights and to see the difference. Actually got 3" and 2.5", I was going to put the 2.5" in my jeep but they have a better lowbeam so Iay put them in this.
