Post 2014 FX4 Ecoboost Build

Hey Guys,

Brand new to the forum here but I have been lingering around lately getting some info. I am Located in central Florida. I picked up a new Silver 2014 FX4 Screw Ecoboost last weekend. I will be slowly adding parts to the truck nothing too over the top. I wanted to start a thread for it in case I had any questions or if anyone had any questions for me. I am not new to modding vehicles but am by no means an expert.

So far the truck is stock besides the factory spray in bed liner. I also took the reflectors out of the mirror and plasti-dipped them temporarily to get rid of that ugly orange and removed the FX4 decal. I have already ordered a few miscellaneous things Front license plate, decals, etc. I also ordered a 2.5" Auto Spring leveling kit and my windows will be tinted tomorrow. 4% on all windows and windshield strip and 30% down the entire windshield.

I am pretty set on what I want to do with the truck the only thing I am still in the air about is tires and rims. I'm either wanting the stock 20" FX4 rims on 295/60 Nitto trail graps or 22's of some sort with 285/55 Nitto trail graps. So if anyone has the stocks they are wanting to get rid of that may help my decision if not I am open to any and all opinions.

These are the things I have planned like I said nothing crazy:

-Weather Tech floor liners
-LED's in every light socket available
-Color matched grille, fenders, badges, emblems
-Black UWS low pro toolbox
-AFE Intake
-Tires and Rims
-Train Horns
-Amp research steps
-Maybe a tune not sure yet

I'm sure I will get bored and add more but that's all for now. I am 20 years old and work very hard for my money I am open to all opinions but please do not bash my truck or what I put on it.

Sorry for the crappy pictures but all I have is my Iphone to take pics

Got my tint on yesterday and couldnt be happier with the result but my tint guy noticed my windshield is chipped so I'll have to get that filled through insurance by those safelite guys. My leveling kit is sitting at the house but it will have to wait to get put on for a few weeks I'm getting put on active duty tomorrow and wont have time to get it on and aligned before I leave.

Thanks I'm thinking I'm going with the 22x10 -13 offset fuel Mavericks with 285/55/22 Nitto trail grapplers I'm hoping they fit I don't want to hack up my brand new truck but a little trimming won't hurt any suggestions are appreciated if it entails too much trimming I'll do 33 toyo m/t's

So guys I came of active duty Friday and Sunday I put my leveling kit on it looks alot better now I also added a recon third brake light and got my buddy that does decals to do my window pillars gloss black and make me something for the hideous ecoboost badge. Let me know what you guys think. I am also thinking about lifting my truck as well now just an idea I'm kicking around at the moment. I should have the majority of everything ordered for my truck by the end of this week besides tires and rims I'll also be ordering a smittybilt M1 grille instead of colormatching my existing grille and emblem.

If I end up lifting it I will be doing:

-6" BDS coilover system powdercoated not sure on the color yet.

-22x12's hopefully Specialty Forged Black SF010 Im waiting to hear back to see if they started making 6 Lug yet.

-325/55/22 Nitto Trail Graps

-AMP steps

-A system of some sort the stock sony isn't cutting it. I was thinking something like #Projectbedlam from DV8 motorsports Im probably going to contact them to get more details on it.

A few other miscellaneous things like colormatched black and silver heads and tails with oracles.

I cant leave anything alone its a curse and my bank account hates me for it.

Let me know what you guys think.

A few things came up and wasn't able to order the lift tires etc. I found a guy selling fx4 20's for a decent price so I picked those up along with some 35x12.50 toyo m/t's not a whole lot else has been done to the truck but this is how it'll stay for a little while

Man that thing is sweet. I just bought a 2014 Platinum 4x4 in the same color. I haven't done a lot to mine yet but its a work in progress. Mine had dealer tint 35% but wasn't dark enough so I put 5% over it. Maybe a little too dark now idk. Weather techs, FX4 tail lights and window visors is it for me so far. I have a long list ahead. Getting bed sprayed Friday. I have a question for you. What did you do to the ecoboost emblem? Is that window tint or vinyl wrap or what? You have a good looking truck man! Keep it up!

Thanks I appreciate it. I was really wanting to lift it and do 35's with 22's but something came up and bank account said to wait lol but I'm actually really liking this look now. I have a good friend that does vinyl work and decals he measured the emblem and layed down the black then had the ecoboost printed out in silver on his machine and layed it over the black. I'm sure if you present this idea to someone that does it they can do it. My buddy said it was a PITA though and wouldn't do it again for anyone else

Your truck looks outstanding, the FX4 wheels and the 35s give your truck such personality, looking forward to seeing more tweaks in the future.
