Default 2014 FX4 Build "The Onyx"

Here I go! I am brand new to the forum, but very excited to join. I traded in my 2012 F-150 XLT for a new 2014 Tuxedo Black FX4 with the apperance package. I am going to make this my hobby for years to come. I have made several mod's and thought I was close to being done. Until I saw the "F150 Forum." I have so many more mods to go and I cant wait to share them here. Here is a picture of what my FX4 looked like when I first bought it.

Here are some of my recent mods:

Tinted windows 20% all the way around (except winshield of course)
XD-Rockstar 2 wheels - 20x12.50 with 5 3/4 offset
Nitto tires LT305/55R20, Trail Grapplers
ReadyLift leveling kit, 2" to the front
GoRecon smoked LED Tail Lights
I removed the FX4 stock sticker decal and bought a FX4 carbon fiber sticker decal (there was nothing carbon fiber about it) it was so ugly (as you can see) I ripped it right off. $40 experiment gone bad

So I took the center caps from my Rockstar 2's and plasti dipped the stars Red. I also used the 3m clear coat spray to get them glossy. Honestly, I did not like it. Took about 4 days for me to realize it was not my thing. Due to the clear coat, I was unable to peel the plasti dip off. F#&!, I had to order new stars and back to the gloss black. Like them much better. Each star was $11.99, so this experiment did not set me back too much. Thank God!

I also bought a new FX4 decal, it was suppose to be all black carbon fiber. Again, nothing carbon fiber about it. WTF, looks gray! Any suggestions?

Coming along very nicely. I think matte black FX4 decals would compliment the appearance package quite well. I switched mine to matte and I like the look.

Good looking out pitch black, I'm gonna check it out. I really don't mind spending $20 here and there to make it look right. Even the smallest details matter. Your truck is sick, and so is the name. Did you change the gears when you got bigger tires, and if so did it make a difference?

Hey Limited, thx for responding. I actually do like the bare look. I've tried it and it definitely looks good. I was just trying to advertise my FX4, but haven't found a decal that looks good. I am definitely not going to compromise looks for advertisement.

Default Bushwacker fender flares

So last week I ordered a set of Bushwacker Pocket Style Fender Flares from Truckimage.com. I ordered them on a Wednesday and arrived to my front door on Friday. That was quick, I highly recommend them. Anyways, my flares are with the body shop getting painted to match my truck. Cant wait to install them.

NEED YOUR INPUT:
Please let me know what you guys think looks best. The rivets on the flares are Chrome, but I was thinking about painting them black. What do you guys think? Once they go black they cant go back (unless I buy an extra set of rivets)

IMO return them for smooth flares with no rivets if you're dead set on having a set on your truck. Personally, would have just left the OEM ones.

Thanks Lmrtn74! Yours is going to be one bad azz rig with all these mods! Pocket style is a nice contrast and looks great on these trucks. Personally, I would end up painting those rivets black. I think it'll look great.

I stayed with stock 3.73s and running a tune. The truck turns them quite well, but eventually will end up going with 4.10s.
