Default 2014 FX4 blacked out, Rockstar II, Mickeys, 2" level

Just did a package on a 2014 FX4 at the shop this afternoon. Blacked out emblems, 20x9" (+18 offset) KMC Rockstar II rims, 35x12.50 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 tires (had to trim valence to make them fit), 2" level kit, Hypertech Max Energy programmer/calibrator. Turned out pretty nice! Removed chrome exhaust tip - tried selling him a black tip, but he wouldn't go for it.

Excuse the cell phone quality photos, I forgot my SLR at home.

Nice. I just bought the same truck, but supercab and I did the fox racing 2.0" front and rear. Looking for rims and tires now.

Not really. If there's a problem with something, Ford has to be able to prove that the modification was the cause.

really? As I am dumb to this....I dont know, and even in the owners manual it says any modifications to suspension, exhaust, emissions, etc...will void warranty. I bought a 2012 fx4 and been wanting to do things to it but scared about the warranty

Why a hypertech tuner as opposed to an SCT or other better brand?

Roll the dice, see if you're feeling lucky. That whole modification/warranty battle is more hassle than it's worth, but you're rolling the dice on whether or not anything will go wrong.

People may be fooled into thinking that if these mods were installed by a Ford dealer that it's covered under Ford's warranty.

Thing is, Ford is only providing warranty on what they built, as it was delivered to the dealer, anything after that is open to interpretation, regardless of who installed it.

This is why the Raptor has full Ford warranty coverage and these dealer packages do not.

At least that's my understanding of it, unless someone has better information.

All dealerships are different. Some allow more stuff then others. Ford is a HUGE company with tons of money and special engineers that modify these trucks. They dont want some smaller aftermarket companies' (that dont have much funds for research) products to mess with their trucks suspension, engine etc. that they have perfected, causing it to malfunction or break and then they have to fix it.

Hypertech was the only one that was a half decent price from my main supplier. That's the only reason, I haven't even compared it to other brands. But it's easy to use and it works.

Regarding Ford warranty, Ford won't say your fuel pump isn't covered because you have a lift. Certain things may not be covered (such as ball joints or u-joints), but you can try going after the lift manufacturer in that case.

See Pro-Comp lift shield: http://data.procompusa.com/liftshield/faq.asp
