Default 2007 Black STX refresh and upgrade

I'm still waiting on wheels and seat covers, but I want to keep track of what I've done so far. I am cleaning up this 2007 STX.

That's stock, although the previous owner did put in a replacement chrome grille and chrome step bars. I'm looking into some different bars. I like the chrome grille (NOT blacking it out) so I added some chrome door and tailgate handles.

Next I added scuff protectors, even though a lot of scuffing has already been done.

Looks better without all that visible scuffed paint. More coming soon.

I popped off the door panel and replaced a broken arm rest and drivers side mirror. The mirror had been broken at some point, and an ill fitting replacement glass had been glued over the old one. The arm rest replacement is about a shade and a half darker grey than the old one, so I have to get one for the passenger side too. If the color is going to be off, it has to be off on both sides.

Up next is a desperately needed plug change. I managed to get the three drivers side plugs done before I ran out of light. They gapped at .065 I hope it fixes my hesitation problem, but if not I'll move to wires and coil.

Up next: pillar covers, third brake light replacement and line-x.

Finished the plug change this morning. I had to take off the passenger side wheel well cover and tire to change all three plugs. There just isn't enough room to get in there from the top down. She started nice and smooth and the idle vibration is gone. Feels like a sedan at idle now.

I'm out running errands now. It's a different freaking truck! Acceleration and shifting are smooth and she actually has some get-up-and-go. No more fish bites at 45-50 miles an hour uphill. I'm a happy camper.

Replaced the old cargo light with a new LED fixture and caulked it with clear silicone to prevent leaks. Also replaced both front and rear Ford badges, getting rid of the old faded ones.

I swapped out all four speakers for some Kenwood 3-way replacements. Should be getting a Kenwood head unit soon.

I noticed the other day that my grille had a crack in it. Installed a replacement today. It has a dark grey insert to match the anthracite grey wheels and seat covers I have yet to install.
