Thanks haha I was proud of them
Alpine Type S 5x7s are $60 a pair. Had some in the old Chevy and just put a set in the fronts to replace the Boston Acoustics that I destroyed . . . I literally broke one, like snapped a part of it off haha. The Boston Acoustic SE85s are around the same price and very clear, don't handle a lot of power, so they should work well with a stock head unit. Happy with both.

Do the 20 and mount up some brackets for regular duallies. That might look pretty cool

I don't plan on amping the doors at all forreal unless there is a way to use the Sony amp on them for when I put subs in the back so I don't need serious power handling just better than stock. I had some kickers in my ranger and I lived them but I'd like to upgrade a little since it's a 47k truck lol
I don't think you can go wrong with Type S Alpines. And those Boston are super clear in the mids and highs. But maybe I like those because I have subs to account for the low end.
Or just drill two more holes in the bar . . . no brackets needed haha.

You will never gain any advantage stereo wise by swapping door speakers and NOT adding an amp and crossover to power and control them. Do it once, do it right. If you need some good audio equipment I can get JL, Hertz, Focal, etc. and for a LOT less than full price most of the time.

I'm not for now either, so both of those are good choices. I love both sets of Kicker subs I've had, but I don't like their door speakers. Maybe I've just heard really cheap ones in person, but I don't like them and the ones in my buddy's 2013 are barely a year old and both fronts are broken already. Something has come apart and they buzz constantly. And that's on his factory head unit, and he doesn't crank it real loud ever, and they sounded pretty bad even when they were new. Don't know what they are, but they were $80 a pair.

Lol the best buy I went to last night was small as hell. I'm gonna go to a bigger one today after work and see if they have the type s.ive always used Rockford fosgate or kicker so I'm kinda biased to them lol I've heard a lot of good things about the polks thou.eventually I might add a small amp or try to figure out how to use the Sony amp on them and use an independent amp for some subs.
Type S from Amazon - $60 shipped with no tax; $6 for harnesses
Best Buy - $100 plus tax; $15 for harnesses from the exact same brand
RF stuff is good. And Kickers subs are good, I just hate their door speakers haha. I've also heard good stuff about Polk.
