Just remember, get quality headers. American racing or kooks or something reputable. Cheap headers can cause a lot of problems with fitment and leaks
I wonder how the 09+ trucks are (I assume they're almost the same), cause my 06 was every bit as annoying to put long tubes on as my buddy's 05 GT. The driver side takes 45 minutes, but the passenger side is a bitch and has very little access. And you still need to remove the passenger motor mount and jack the engine up, remove the starter (PITA), and remove the oil dipstick.

Don't forget about locking header bolts either. Those are $100 just by themselves.

I would call it more time consuming, than a pita. I've got motor lifts, jacks, everything we need. a 99-04 mustang takes a full day, sometimes more, so a full size truck with those engine bays will be a breeze. Just bring beer and we'll get it done. No problem!

I would also call it time consuming versus a PITA. It really is straight forward work, but mine threw me for a loop on the two forwardmost studs cause you can't see them and can barely get your hands in there.

But it's still working on a vehicle and always worse than you think

Dodges and Chebbies and twice as easy! And Corvettes are a dream.

I think headers are going to be the only thing I pay somebody to do. The only way I would do it myself is if I had a machanical guru working with me and coaching me through what I can only imagine as a nightmare to do.

Is it worth forking over $1k+ to have someone do it? And even more if you live up north with rusted head bolts that can snap? I'd pay maybe $300-500 for the job, but I was too cheap to pay someone to do them for me haha.

They're really not that hard. It's definitely not a quick job, but not hard. Just gotta have the right tools to make it easier. And patience. Lol
