Soooo I still don't have the truck back. The bolts that needed to be removed have been giving the shop some trouble, so it's just been a slow process. It's going though...I should have it back tomorrow. Also, another hiccup. The shop called me and told me they can't put my rims on my tires because they wont fit. The rims are 12" wide, the tires are 295/65/20 which translates to roughly 11.6". They say it is a "liability issue". The thing is, I have done research and found that they do fit. Luckily, a friend of a friend will do it for me. This means I won't actually be able to actually drive my truck until saturday....hopefully.

I mean if you look at that tire mounted on those rims, it'll be about 6 inches off in width. The bead sits even narrower than the width rating of the tire. So it's understandable why they can't mount them, and cal will probably have to find a car place that knows how to use a couple of cheetahs to stretch tires.

The first tire shop I went to had an issue putting 295/65/20s on my 10 wides, and had to bring them to another shop for them to work their magic and get them to seat. Mine look completely normal mounted, so I'm not sure what the issue was haha. I can see them having an issue slapping those on a 12 wide rim though. Are you going with an AT tire?
Nitto Trail Grapplers! I can see why they would have issues too, but if people can put a 12.5 inch tire on a 14 inch wide rim, I would hope mine could fit!

Usually a 10 ply mud tire is a little tougher to reliably stretch, but it really is all about technique and who's worked out the best method. Most guys running stretched tires on 14 wide forces are doing so with a soft Nitto street tire or mild Toyo all terrain, which are usually more compliant. Good luck and I can't wait to see how it turns out! I ran into some of the same issues getting mine lifted but it will be well worth the headache when you see the finished product!
