Received my Roush Exhaust System for my 5.0 yesterday. Got it installed this morning and words can't even begin to describe the sound of this exhaust. It's deep, it mean, and it screams! It's an awesome low rumble at idle and cruising speeds.

However, It screams when you accelerate. Its almost too loud! At 3000+ RPM it's almost over the top. At cruising speeds of 70-75 and RPM's around 2000 it's only a soft rumble in the cab.

Although its louder than I expected, I'm very pleased overall. Top notch quality and manufacturing. Loud when you accelerate and quiet when you're off the gas. All I could ask for in an exhaust system.

I was just curious on how much after the purchase have you put into your truck. If you don't mind saying.

I (like many I am sure) bought my truck thinking it was perfect. Then I find this forum and there are a 1000 things to do to my truck but it all adds up so fast. I am looking at about 5k more right now!

I agree with you completely. This forum is doing its part in breaking the bank for me. My wife is only on with it because she drives the truck as much as I do - she has rules and stipulations to abide by though!

I have an excel sheet put together with all the modifications I have and plan to do. I have recently found out that every manufacturer has a better price if you make them compete with other companies so I've bought the majority of my parts for less, inexpensive prices than listed.

I am roughly at 4k for Wheels, Tires, Exhaust, Cold Air Intake, Leveling Kit, Reverse lighting system, bull bar, offload lights, overlays, paint, and labor.

Many would say I could have went different routes for less expensive products. However, a quality vehicle deserves quality aftermarkets so I justify it by that and have gotten the products I feel most satisfied with for my taste.

By the way, very sharp looking truck EZ!

Here is where i mounted my switch for my Westin off road lights. The kit came with a red switch so I purchased a black rocker switch with blue LED. I preferred this because it kept a more stock look.

Received my Roush Cold Air Intake today. It's a pretty simple install. Directions were ok but I just watched a YouTube video as an aid in the installation.

Went for a 30 minute drive and take it for what it's worth but I do think it sounds a little meaner with the combo rather than only having the Roush exhaust system. I was driving it pretty hard and transmission temps got to 207. The highest I had seen with stock intake was 201.

You guys have similar experiences with aftermarket intake or is it only related to how I was driving it?

Anyways, here is a stock picture and the new Roush intake installed.

Thanks man. It's an overlay. I bought those for the front, rear, and steering wheel ovals for $30 bucks or so. Primarily to eliminate the stock blue on the emblems.

I plan on painting the front and rear Ford emblems black and sterling grey when times allows.
