Truck is looking good! I've subscribed to follow your project. What brand (and possibly part number) switches are you using? I want to mount two switches where the right-hand coin(?) thing is in my XLT and those switches look very nice and will fit the decor of my interior. I looked on your blog for details about the switches, but didn't find anything.

Nice work! Please keep posting.

Thanks Coog! The switches are pretty generic from what I've seen. I actually had to go to several auto parts stores to find them in the colors I wanted. O'Reilly's, Napa both had them in stock and although packaged differently, were the same exact switches. Just look for some that look like mine an they should be 30A (360W) and come in Blue, Amber, Green, Red. Here's a link to the ones I used:

You may want to also go check Radio Shack. I found out after I had already purchased and installed mine, that Radio Shack had them for HALF the price!

Only down side is that they only carry RED:

Very nice! Looking really sweet. To jump back a step, do you have the Airaid part number that you ordered? And, when installed, does the Airaid filter sit exposed like that or is there a cover? I looked at the install instructions (for what I hope what the right part) and it didn't show a cover.

I have another question for you, but I'm going to PM it since I think it would derail this thread.

Thanks!

The AirAid part # you want is Part # 401-239.

This is the SynthaMax (NON OILED) filter. There is no cover for it. What it has is a rubber moulding that creates a seal between the hood and the air box. Kind of nice when you pop the hood and see that big *** AirAid filter looking back at you.

do you like the air raid intake? Thinking about purchasing one if they are worth it.

Yeah man, so far I like it. I feel a bump in power, but it isn't like massive or anything. You still feel it being a bit more responsive and the sound gets a nice whoosh to it. Not sure on fuel economy, I put it on with only 300 miles, so I didn't have much of a baseline to go from. I'm getting roughly 16mpg avg. and for an FX4 long bed with 4.10 gears and a canopy on top, that's not too bad. The real figures will be interesting once I put the new wheels and meats on there...
