Default 2011 fx4 ecoboost to raptor conversion built

My project started last April when I was lucky to find a 2011 FX4 that just came in a salvage yard with a reasonable pricing. My dream was to find a recent F150 well equipped, with nothing more (or less) than bodywork to complete a facelift to a Raptor conversion. This was the truck! Frame was OK, all mechanics, drivetrain as well as the radiators were intact. Perhaps, I was unable to obtain the historic of what happened to this truck. Of what I can believe from the accident period, this truck had a front side impact prior making some rollover(s), probably in deep snow. The body was bumped all around except for the back panel and the front helper side door that was left (almost) untouched. This deal also included 4 news front & side curtains airbags (installed by seller) with a set of new Nitto 20"x12.5x35" Trail Grapplers tires mounted on Rock Star wheels. I also requested to include a top cover with sunroof that I needed for replacement as well as an OEM NAV system to replace the damaged 6 tracks CD. At that time, I was in the thought that an OEM NAV retrofit was an easy job since the truck already had auto HVAC and with all the stuff that we see on a NAV equipped truck; MS SYNC, SONY sound system, GPS and XM option. This was only the point of the Iceberg!

To be continued...

I agree that this is a challenging project for me AND having this to do in the weekend, is some kind of therapy for me; helping me to be completely disconnected for the week work. I love it!
Perhaps, I don't really know the time I have to spend in this project and I don't care. Last 4 weeks, I went thought the installation of an OEM NAV system in this FX4. In the beginning, I guessed it would be some kind of Plug & Play since I already had the Auto HVAC... But it wasn't!!!
I spent more that 40 hours of my spare time in studying the electrical drawings & testing the whole connectors & modules network in order making this NAV work with the HVAC and especially the Sony audio system. I know now this can be done with some patience!... And now final testing tell it's 100% functional - Only without the reverse camera that I still don't have at this time!
Also repainted with metallic bronze base coat plus semi mate topcoat all the light grey plastic dash & console panels to give a more deep color touch to the interior. I can agree... Taste is personal! And I share here all your point of view!

Will you also be doing a 6.2 engine swap? Any under the hood power mods?
