Default Troy's 2013 FX4 SCrew build

I'm not doing anything radical with my F-150, but I thought I'd start a build thread in case anyone was interested in these mods I've done.

As background, I ordered my 2013 FX4 SCrew (Ecoboost, Luxury Package, 6.5' bed, tailgate step, box side steps, Nav) on Sept 11th. I received it 6 weeks later. My usage for this truck is mainly to "recreate" - meaning, I go camping, hiking, shooting, fishing, and general exploring here in the Colorado Rockies. To get to some camping and fishing spots, as well as my preferred shooting spots, I have to take 'fire roads' through the National Forest land in the mountains. That means I do light-to-moderate 'off road' driving at times and at altitudes anywhere between 8,000-13,000 feet. I wanted a truck capable of that, but yet one that would get me there in a pretty nice interior. Hence, the Ecoboost FX4.

Here's the truck the day I picked it up:

And another before I did any mods:

The first modifications I did were the following:

- Installed the grill from Amazon onto the EB intercooler opening
- Swapped the stock Pirelli's for 275/60R20 Cooper Discoverer A/T3's
- Installed WeatherTech splash guards front & rear
- Plasti-dipped the side mirror reflectors (orange to black)
- Installed BedTred in the bed
- Bought a Leer 100XR bed cap. I got 'win-doors' on both sides, the Wilderness Package (Thule roof rack with aero deflector, dome lights, lockable gun case mounted to roof modified to be accessed through win-door, fishing rod holders, and keyless entry
- Installed a White Knight rear lights for the reverse camera at night time

Here's some pictures of the above mods:

The dogs are liking the new truck!

The gun case is mounted to the roof on the left, and the fishing rod holders on the right. Also note the BedTred:

Next up:

Tomorrow I'm installing an AutoSpring 1.5" front level kit (not really for looks, but rather to give me about 1 3/4" of increased front end/nose clearance). Also getting an alignment.

Sunday I'm replacing the oem running boards with a set of Rampage SlimLine black powdercoated boards.

That's nice shell. Do you access the gun case from the drivers side? I don't see an opening on it.

Yes - I modified the gun box so that it's accessed via the driver's side win-door. I'll take a picture of it sometime.

The level kit was installed yesterday and I'm going in for an alignment tomorrow morning. I'll take pictures after the alignment if anyone's interested (AutoSpring's instructions state that the front will drop slightly after a proper alignment)

There's been an major issue with the latest batch of these from Rampage. They have been trying to find another nut combo that will work to attach these to the F-150. They're communication this week to me has been lacking, so I'll likely be sending these back for a refund next week. I'm tired of waiting around for them. They should have been manufactured properly to begin with. See this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f7/rampage...110162/index2/

A bit of an update from the last few weeks. I completed the following mods:

- Autospring leveling kit installed (1.5" spacer somehow resulted in 2.5" of front lift)
- Dynolock keyless tailgate lock solenoid installed
- DeeZee tailgate assist installed
- Ford accessory front door sill appliques installed
- Ebay radiator mesh bug screens installed
- WeatherTech front and rear mud flaps installed

The Rampage Slimline nerf bars were a complete bust. The bolts welded onto them which were for mounting to the truck were defective. 1/2" long bolts are not nearly long enough for secure attachment to the truck. Through emails with Rampage Products they agreed with me that their entire batch of nerf bars are defective. They won't be receiving corrected ones until "sometime next year."

Here's a couple pictures. First one is kind of a poor picture of the front leveling kit. I'll take better ones tomorrow.
Second picture is of the Dynolock installed inside the tailgate.

And here's a picture of the defective Rampage Slimline nerf bars:
