2008 White F150 build for my son
This is something we are getting ready for a November birthday present. We are completely new to the modification game, so any suggestions are welcome, but here's what we have in store so far:
1. Rhino line the rocker panels and bumpers black.
2. 6-inch lift or just level it out.
3. Smittybilt light bar or bull bar with two or four PIAA or KC lights.
4. BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires (18") and Fuel Krank wheels.
Straight factory except for the tool box.
About as factory as they come.
Only thing done so far... tinted windows

on this truck does anyone have a preference for the billet grill or mesh grill?
also we are thinking about painting the bumper cap white and the frame around the grill white. then black rockers, black bumpers and black grill insert. what says you?

With respect to everybody that's commented, if that's the style that he wants and you are willing to help him achieve that style, then I would go with that. If he plans on hunting, the Rhino Lining on the rockers will help protect the underbody. I'm not sure if this is his first truck or not, but longevity is something to think about as well. A quality lift is a must if you go that route. There are tons of them on here (some good experience some bad). I'm sure if you leveled it or went with a 4" lift he would want more......just how it goes. The popular lights so far are rigids. Not to say the PIAA or KC have somehow diminished in quality, just that Rigids are the flavor of the month. I would highly recommend LED lights. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.
EDIT** Rhino Linings and the sort can be colored to closely match the paint if thats what you want.

manu, thanks for the info. he is about to be 16 and we do hunt, so we are likely going rhino liner. i'll look at rigid, and yes, the place we are talking to about some of the mods suggested LED also.
we are just really looking for comments and suggestions. we have looked at trucks on the road and in parking lots, talked to his friends, etc...
i just don't wanna spend $$$ and then it look bad.
the picture i just posted is the "look" we want, but i know his truck is a little different from that one. thanks again.
