Bought a 2007 Lariat that was running rough for $2500. I tore apart the engine, pulled it out and put it on an engine stand. Took of the timing cover and the tensioner wasn't there :P. It was crunched into pieces sitting in the oil pan. Any idea why this could have happened?

Also the camshaft bearings were torn to shreads, like there is no getting around buying a new head. The cams had a little surface rust on them too.

I'm doing the re-build, if anyone is interested in seeing the rebuild, and possibly giving me advice on where all the **** goes back on the engine feel free to follow the thread lol. These are the pictures I have so far!
