It was messing with the aerodynamics (or lack there of) and causing the wipers to chatter on the windshield I'm missing the HP gains though.

Picked up this big sucker (pardon the pun) the other day for $80!

I figure since Larry had 287k on him he could use a de-carboning

I imagine this is probably the same **** just a different label, but better safe than sorry. Took awhile for him to crank over and start up after the cleaning.. Didn't notice any difference.

Done! with bolts to spare

Sounds better, didn't notice any performance gain. I had the battery unhooked and went out and hammered on it for a bit. Throttle response improved but I think that's more computer related.

Been awhile since I've updated this!

I finally took the time to paint the front bumper, I had bought replacement frame horns to weld on as mine were bent from the accident but I decided to cheat and just drill new holes.

Can you tell whats going on in this picture?

Looks good! Digging the new gen wheels on there. Did you end up putting blocks on the back?

It's a little weird. I broke a leaf spring and had access to 2009+ leafs. They are too long so I split the pack apart and cut down the long pieces and added them to my main leaf. The 2009+ uses a 3 leaf system the 04-08 uses 4 leaf. Because I only replaced one side I have two blocks and 3 leafs in one side and 1 block and 4 leafs in the other side lol It turns out that configuration keeps the truck level....

I thought I read somewhere that at some point the opening got smaller, it may have been in '06. All I did was drill a hole on either side and pass a bolt through and tighten it into the light bar itself.

Alright hopefully a few people read this and give me their opinions.

Larry fell victim to the common cam phaser/timing chain/tensioner/solenoid problem. I basically need to pull the front cover off the engine and replace stuff.

I plan to pull the engine out to do this as he needs a manifold as well so what are a few cool things I can do to hop up the engine while I have it out?

Obviously I'll do all the pain in the **** stuff like head gaskets and water pump but give me some fun ideas! I already have a tuner so I can get a custom tune down the road to work with any upgrades.

Lets say you gave yourself a budget of $2000 and could do the work yourself - what would you add to your 5.4 to make it stronger and sound better. I don't mean a cat back and a cold air intake...

Sounds like you have the money for timing parts and beer to me!

I need that "Duct tape edition" badge.
